Reminds me of wine. Crisp, but not sharp. Leaves my mouth somehow dry after each sip, a lot like iced tea. Smooth and light mouthfeel, like a lighter wheat ale as opposed to a stout or something a bit heavier. Easy to drink; doesn’t fill me up. Still packs quite a punch in terms of alcohol, but no harsh alcohol taste. Unique and tasty.

I loved the fact that this beer was not sweet. I am not in to fruity beers, but this has a more of an earthy flavor. It is dryer on the palate, which keeps it light. It is also a treat to see the beautiful rose color in the glass when served to you.

The overall color and taste of this beer is delightful. My best friend loves beets and once I showed her this beer, she can’t stop drinking it.

Tasted in Dec, 2013 at Historians Ale House. Raspberry amber color. Med carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of raspberry soda, lime, lemon rind. Overall bright and flavorful with more sour fruit than herbs, hops, malt or beets!

Hazy pinkish copper, like blood orange grapefruit, under a thin white head. Nose is sweet and estery with some barn hay and sweet saison grains, but also with a slight fruity tone that reminds me of cherries. Flavor is swell, and not very beet-like, but has a little undertone like cherries, and that’s no bad thing at all. Dusty pilsner and sweet Belgian blonde malt grains mix with a gentle background fruity sweetness, with a gentle not-too-bitter kiss of floral slightly resinous hops. Love it!

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2014 (Original rate a 3.4 exactly one year ago - beets are way overdone in the new.batch - they come.through big time on the approach, and this makes.the beer much less.enjoyable to me) Tap at Renegade - lightly hazy pinkish pour - flavor is medium sweet, but with strong notes of peppery spice, earthy straw, melon rind - moderate esters (banana) and some earthy, rustic and spicy phenols - beets are not really present - surprised at how much I like this,

On tap at the brewery. Pour is beautiful pink orange in appearance with a frothy white head and great lacing. Big earthy, floral, biscuity, grassy, doughy, rose water, and straw in the aroma. Taste is lightly tart, roast water, strawberry, doughy, biscuity, clove, and white pepper. Light body with high carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff.
