Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of chocolate, coffee, bourbon into a bit of pumpkin, vegetal note, slight cinnamon into a bit of pumpkin, slight dark fruit. The base beer was much lower in alcohol than this - are you telling me the barrel made it this strong - pssht - anyway, I wasn’t a huge fan of the base beer to begin with - an infection definitely set in while this was in the barrel because this shit is sour, man - there is some nutmeg, some oak, strong booze, but quite sour and acidic throughout - some diacetyl in the nose, as well - bleck. On tap at the brewery. Pour is murky brown with a light red tint and small tan head with good lacing. Pumpkin, hairspray, whiskey, light dark fruits, very perfumery, red licorice, and nail polish in the aroma. Taste is roasty, perfume, sweet potatoes, nutmeg, cinnamon, somewhat herbal, tart, and kind-of off. Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Something is really off with this one. On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of bourbon, oak, fruittiness, cinnamon, nutmeg, carmel and light cocoa. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry lightly tarty finish. Flavors of bourbon, sour cherry, oak, carmel, cocoa, light cinnamon and light nutmeg with a crisp dry lightly tart lingering cherry finish.
