On tap at the brewery. Pour is deep brownish-amber with a decent sized, brown head and great lacing. Cinnamon, nutmeg, graham crackers, potpourri, phenols, light sweet potatoes, and Mexican chocolate in the aroma. Taste is spicy pumpkin, cinnamon, gingerbread, light cocoa, chili peppers, and bread with a lightly roasted finish. Medium mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Smell is much spicier than the taste and I think the use of spices here was well-done. Where a lot of pumpkin beers are over-the-top this one is balanced well by not being too roasty, spicy, or sweet. Pretty good stuff. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Tap. Dark brown with tan head. Smells pumpkin spicy. Tastes silky, great pumpkin spice flavor with a nice bitter coffee finish. Easy to drink, really good. Really like it. notalush (5878) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Tap at Renegade - really light for a porter - dark amber beer with a slight lace - nose is earthy, sweet pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, some dry herbal character - flavor is very sweet and not at all porter like - highly spiced - flavors of nutmeg, brown sugar, cinnamon, all spice, caramel - some toasty and lightly earthy pumpkin character late - as a pumpkin beer, it’s decent, but as a pumpkin porter? - also hard for me to get past the sweetness, especially in the finish.
