On tap at the Renegade tap room, poured a slightly hazy golden hue w/ average white head to a thin lasting cap and excellent lacing. Initial flavor is light sweet with a bold bitter finish of moderate duration. Tastes are citrus, caramel, herbal, apricots, rye, and a piney finish. Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel, and average carbonation. DenverLogan (1301) - North Bend, Washington, USA - JUL 29, 2013
Golden copper...small lingering bubbles lacing my chalice. Aroma of wheat, grass, rye. Flavors of a nice IPA with rye briteness, with touches of white pepper, pine, rosemary, sage, alcohol, and a hop and rye bitterness. There’s also a sweetness like a peppermint candy with a touch of bitterness. Significant carbonation and body. I’ll admit I’ve bought perhaps 10 growlers of this brew, and it’s not the closest brewery to me in the Denver area. I used to go a few blocks away to Breckenridge for their 471 double IPA, and I still like it, but there’s something about this brew, the spice-hop-rye balance that has body, strength, and tastiness. Very satisfying in the growler or at the brewery. I’ve not tries the cans yet. Cwrw42 (51) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 25, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 12, 2012 Refreshing thirst quencher on a record high temp day! Balance of hops and spice in the aroma. Medium bodied, easy drinking one to come back to again and again...... onceblind (10880) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 2, 2011
Deep opaque copper. Aroma has slight rye with a ton of citrus hops. Smells also, oddly, of freshly cleaned copper. But the taste is where it’s at. Caramel malt and rye hit first, with some grapefruit/orange citrus rind, resinous and juicy. Balanced, assertive, big delightful flavor. Win! DrinkEmUpJones (1069) - Georgia, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Pours clear light orange with white lacing. Light aroma of rye & citrus peel. Palate is full-bodied, really hoppy with lots of bitter grapefruit flavor. Rye is nice, not overbearing, but a nice complinet to the hops. Very lingering finish.
