UPDATED: NOV 22, 2011 [Have had a few more times since the initial batch - the hop profile is much more strong and crisp, keeping the sweetness much more in check - solid and my current go-to local IPA] Tap at the brewery - lightly hazy orange - nose explodes with wet, fresh, citric hop character - medium body, creamy mouthfeel - mildly acidic, with moderate sweetness to balance - moderately bitter, earthy hop character, carrying a lot o citrus flavor, complimented fairly well by the light sourness of the rye - a bit yeasty, and the sweetness lingers a bit, but I enjoyed this one. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 19, 2012
Pour on tap is clear orange with nice white head, aroma brings notes of big pine, caramel, orange and citrus notes with a nice spicy rye presence. Taste is a nice mix of pine and spicy hops, touch of orange and grapefruit, hints of rye spice but not really very present, touch of biscuit and caramel finishes fairly bitter. Nice stuff, like it! mlunger12 (645) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 11, 2013
On tap at brewery. Pours amber. Nice sweet aroma. It’s not quite overly bitter and the rye really sticks out well on the back end. This is quite enjoyable and a great start for the brewery. Errl (2577) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 23, 2013

Small, white head with good retention and an even better, lasting, sticky lace. Murky, gold colored brew. Gots a juicy, resiny citrus nose with notes of pine and some crystal malts. Body is medium with a nice carbo level. nicely oily, resiny, juicy. Sticky, citrusy hop flavors, grapefruit and tangerine with some woody, cedary notes and just a splash of lightly sweet malts. The rye is hard to find, at least for me but no matter as this is a juicy lil IPA. Nice, round finish that lasts. Nice brew! My first Renegade beer and its a nice one. Thanks for the cans, stumpy!

A clear, bright, sunset amber body displays a few streamers beneath a frothy smooth white head falling slowly to create dense, rhythmic, frothy lace all around

Bright aromas and flavors of peach, citrus, green melon, and a touch of dankness accented by rye spice with a shade of umami flowing through and growing with warmth on a smooth, lightly carbonated medium body offering soft creaminess, light tact, and a balanced residual of clean fruity-nutty sweetness against drying bitter citrus
I’m a little surprised by the lower ratings, I enjoyed the well formed, clean, focused profiles with the high ibu coming across in a very juicy, approachable manor

Hazy golden to amber color, yellow to tan head. Hoppy citrus, spicy, caramel, chili scent. Hoppy, fruity, spicy taste. Bitter, herbal, apricots finish. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
Pint at the brewery. Pours cloudy orange with a tall white head and dense lacing. Aroma is adequately hoppy, pineapple, grapefruit and pine are here. Rye cuts through as well. It’s got a full mouthfeel and juicy citrus with a bit of rye spiciness. It’s well balanced and decently bitter. I could use more pop from the hops, but it’s good stuff. 1 pint can. Hazy cooper color, light white head. Aroma and taste of hips, rye, with notes of grass, malt, and slight caramel. Not as much rye sour impact as other versions of this style.
