A Resignation Recipe Brewed In Collaboration with Redhook. A toast lager with notes of chocolate and coffee. Unlike a heavy porter or a stout it’s amazingly light, crispy, and sessionable. KCCO Black is a delicious misfit.

Bottle. Pours a true cola colour, fluffy off white khaki head, dare amount of lacing. Nose is malty, but not roast. Tastes malty, sweet, a little bitter but not much, sugary. A little thin.

Coffee/roasted barley aroma, with caramel sweetness and subtle fruit. Light flavor; roasted character is less prominent than in the aroma. Some tart green apple comes through in the finish. Mild but weird bitter aftertaste. Seems pretty flat, and the mouthfeel is thin and astringent.

pours cola brown with a smallish tan head. Aroma is malty. Taste is toasty, like a nut brown. coffee notes. Pleasant semi sweet finish. Good beer.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a hop and garden aroma. Appearance- A dark brown to black color with a nice sized light brown head. Taste- Has a nice hop flavor. Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Overall- First beer from Resignation Brewery and it wasn’t bad. I would drink this again and search for other styles from this brewer.

Bottle at recent beer festival. Pours brown with a white head. Nose is some ash, some earth, big yeast, and some light black coffee. Flavor is similar- ash, black coffee, earth, and yeast. Light in body and pretty forgettable overall.

Nice flavor with dark brown color has smooth mellow taste with no significant bitterness. Reminds me of Tusker a Kenyan lager common in East African bars. Overall a nice Black Lager despite the low rating.

Aan de geur is iets vreemds aan. Maar dat is niet terug te vinden in de smaak. De smaak is redelijk flets. Zeker niet slecht, maar er zit niet veel bijzonders aan de smaak.

Appealing purple color, garnet tinted brown kinda. Smallish head. Fairly accurate and typical schwarzbier, light chocolate/coffee nose, faint caramel-malt sweet smell. Flavor is semi-dry, with that nice dry cocoa finish, light nuttiness and a bit of cereal grain. No roast.

Better than its gimmickyness would suggest, but still very middle of the road. Pours dark brown with thin head. Nose is dry stout like with mild vanilla and butterscotch. Flavor is one dimensional but not bad - some instant coffee and bittersweet baking chocolate. I got at 9.99/24 bottles closeout a few months after I saw it debut at 8.99/6 pack. I think the price I got is a little closer to the right price than the SRP.
