A Resignation Recipe Brewed In Collaboration with Redhook. A toast lager with notes of chocolate and coffee. Unlike a heavy porter or a stout it’s amazingly light, crispy, and sessionable. KCCO Black is a delicious misfit.

bhensonb (16122) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 24, 2014
Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark ruddy brown with a slight beige/tan head. Light chocolate aroma. Near medium - likely cause of the fizzy carbonation. Flavor is very chocolate - tho I think there was some coffee on the way to chocolate. Finishes with a nice, not really sweet, dark malt which is a little bit earthy. Might argue it needs more body, flavor and alcohol, but then it might not fit the style. Brings English dark mild to mind. Tasty drink.

Tmoney99 (15219) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 10, 2014
Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

Dogbrick (14389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 16, 2014
This beer is a clear dark brown color with some red around the edges. Thin foamy beige head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Light body with flavors of toasted malt, coffee and chocolate. The finish is sweet with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Pretty average overall.

"Light toffee, roasted coffee, and even lighter chocolate on the nose and flavor. Mildly bitter, perhaps a touch to sweet and not quite as dry as I like in the style. Not bad, but nuthin special either."
