Can at home. Pours ruby with a big pillowy head. Surprisingly weak aroma, some spice but not much. Taste is of intense bitter hops counterbalanced with strong leather, malt, resin, roastiness and some oily resinous pine flavour. Almost tannic. Very very good, if a bit tryingly astringent on the finish. DavyK (151) - East Kilbride, SCOTLAND - JUN 8, 2017
Keg from Shilling Brewing Co. Malt and caramel aroma, gorgeous deep red tone. Lovely balance of malt against resinous hop and bitterness. Very accomplished. RichTheVillan (8026) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 14, 2017

Taste of rye, toasted malts, caramel, chocolate, orange, some resin, slight grapefruit, a little pepper and subtle spicy hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. Dark amber, bubbly head. Very toasty, rye-influenced aroma. Deep rye taste, lots of brutal bittering hops, no compromise here with 80IBUs clubbing you over his head. Still, it’s not a bad drink. olio (10410) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 20, 2017
355 ml can @ Timo A.allmyvinyl (10835) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 15, 2017
Pours dark mahogany red color with a small head. Aroma is very resinous hoppy and caramel malty, rye, very subtle cocoa on the background, malts. Flavor is roasted malty, a bit light body, mandarin, dry rye and nutty notes, resinous hops, maybe faint chocolate on the aftertaste. Quite nice and balanced brew.
Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours deep amber with a thick beige head. Aromas of spice, nuts, toffee. Taste is dry, peppery, more nuttiness. Long spicy linger. Bit gnarly.
