Rating #2032- 2015.09.27 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 4, Beer 134 - Draught at Taproom - Clear ruby-mahogany pour foamy tan head, medium retention. Aroma is doughy, hints of pastry, toffee. Medium carbonation, crisp mouthfeel. Taste is a hint of toffee, caramel with dominant maltiness. Generously hopped for this style and this is not unwelcome in an otherwise crisp and balanced finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Soft fruity malt on the nose, a touch of toast and nuttiness. Medium bodied, light fruit note, clear malt, a nice amount of nutty malt character. Clean and easy drinking.

Draft pour pint at Reubens. Glowing bronze pour with a fading fizz head. Aroma is generous with hops. Flavor is malty, yet quite refreshing. Crisp finish with a hop reminder. Tasty.

Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Slightly hazy dark amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lace. Malt, fruit and hops in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Reuben’s, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt and toasted nuts. Flavour is nice and bright, with red fruits, bready malt and toasted nuts. Well-balanced and fruity. Not authentic but very nice.

At the brewery. Tastes good but aftertaste is too bitter. Bitter but definitely drinkable.

(Tap) Interesting beer. Has a really nice flavor but also contains an aftertaste that just doesn’t mesh well. Meh.

GABF 2014. Pours an orangish brown appearance with a tan head. Clean. Medium bodied. Caramel, nuts, slight fruity notes. Some biscuit and spice. Solid.
