Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours deep amber with a thick beige head. Aromas of spice, nuts, toffee. Taste is dry, peppery, more nuttiness. Long spicy linger. Bit gnarly.

Keg at Hanging Bat. Pours muddy amber, thin laced tan head. Aroma of toast, slightly singed, some red fruit. Bone dry taste, a little thin and flat (suspect itís better closer to home, and I am off to Seattle next month ....) but nice spicy edge to it. Nearly very good.

On keg at the Hanging Bat.
Appearance - deep amber to brown with a lovely fluffy head.
Nose - honey with some praline edging in there.
Taste - more honey, going into caramel with hazelnut. Finishes in a praline note.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - interesting and good. Would I drink 20 pints ? No probably just 3 or 4.

Sandy coloured rocky head stayed on a rich oak coloured, still body.
Aroma of pine, sweet berries & woody.
Thick on the palate with plenty of cloying. Smooth, creamy, minimal carbonation.
Sweet fruits, caramel & dark berries to the fore. This quickly dissipates over the tongue into tangy, citrus, pine, woody, earthy back.

Can. Dark amber with white head. Malty, biscuit aroma. Flavor is bog upfront citrus and pine hops. High bitterness. The maltiness catches up quick with heavy caramel and chocolate malts. A little soapy. Definitely an IPA that tried to stout rather than the other way.

Bottle from a supermarket in Seattle. Deep ruddy brown colour, white foam. Good tasty beer this, nice spicy rye notes, roasty, and a good citrus pine hop smack. Good stuff.
