Sample at Tap House Grill. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Patchy lacing. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty with a nutty and malty aftertaste. Above average overall. Bottle share at Cotteridge II as Reuben’s Robust Porter, 5.9%. Many thanks to one of the northern alcoholics who attended. Very dark brown, red hue, small foamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, liquorice, lightly floral. Body is smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is floral, a little salty, coffee, liquorice, quite hoppy. Nice. Nice texture, almost like chocolate milk. Nice on draft. Good thickness. Coffee flavor. Great roasted malt flavor. Pretty lipidy almost like an oatmeal stout. Theydon_Bois (22092) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2016

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers and Tom Hanks! Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds earth, chocolate and burnt pine. Medium sweet flavour with cocoa, light bitter earth, pine, citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet to conclude, with good hop expression, more pine, earth. Good stuff overall. Garrold (6032) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 12, 2016
Bottle. Cotteridge Beano v2. Dark brown. Dry chocolate. Fruit. Light roast. Taste is dry. Thin body. More fruity chocolate. Ok. Scopey (16784) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2016
Bottle at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention thanks to Shane. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is bitter – sweet, earthy roast, dark fruits, burnt pine, chocolate and tobacco. The taste is crisp, bitter, earthy roast, wood, charred notes, burnt brown bread and a hint of cardboard with a dry, malt-driven finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Didn’t really stand out for me, came across as a run of the mill porter. SarkyNorthener (5086) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2016
