Tap. Brown with cream head and light lacing. I can smell the cocoa- almost has a bourbon quality. Tastes sweet but not syrupy. Nice. DiarmaidBHK (4891) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 29, 2012
Draft at mad mex north hills. Pours dark brown with an inch of white foam. Big Hershey cocoa notes on the nose. not your typical Brown ale vibe but there’s a malt presence there. Finishes clean. It hides its alcohol well which makes it a bit dangerous. Better than previous versions. Tejas (1006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 29, 2012
This is not a brown ale. I’d call this an American Strong Ale ala Arrogant Bastard. Anyway, this is pretty darn tasty and an easy drinker. Tons of spice really hits the sopt on a cold night. I guess it took He’Brew to collaborate w/ Terrapin in order for Terrapin to produce a better than avg. beer. arone12 (929) - Maryland, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Pours a brown color with a very smal head. Smells of oatmeal and caramel. Smell is amazing. Taste is a bit too sweet for me but still decent. I am liking the oatmeal flavors. Tmoney99 (14460) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Bottle shared by Dr. Silverworm. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate complex toasted sweet malt and spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted spice sweet flavor with a solid sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer.

Aroma of heavy vanilla, birch beer, and cinnamon. Pours ugly brown with a patchy head. Taste is sweet vanilla, root beer and a cinnamon finish. Truly tasty. XmnwildX12 (2079) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - OCT 19, 2012
Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Has mint like scents, creamy, mint chocolate chip and cinnamon like flavors. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2012
just as terrapin and schmaltz tend to make ok beers on their own, this is just an ok beer as well. its too sweet, and would liked to have seen the sweet ingredients balanced out more. so doesnt really do much for me. jhp40219 (449) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Pours a dark brown with a two finger creamy tan head. Aroma of cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, sage and cocoa. Taste is cinnamon, clove, malt, with slight hints of vanilla and cocoa. Palate is well balanced with low carbonation, creamy texture, and a slightly bitter but hoppy finish. Overall not quite what the label promises or what I expected, but not bad by any means. Certainly a nice dessert beer. SpringsLicker (3638) - Tennessee, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Pours an opaque body under a tan head.
Soft aroma of spicy chocolate and vanilla.
The flavor is vanilla ice cream sprinkled with a dusting of cinnamon. Chocolate on the back makes this very nice.
