COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Ale Brewed with Cocoa Nibs, Vanilla and Cinnamon Collaboration with Shmaltz Brewing Company This year’s beer is a similar dark ale to the one we brewed for Reunion ’11. It’s  brewed with cocoa nibs from our friends at Olive and Sinclair in Nashville, vanilla, and this year cinnamon. The flavor begins with complex malt overtones and quickly gives way to the chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Inspired by rich mugs of Mexican hot chocolate this is going to be especially good with BBQ, Mole and Churro…maybe from your favorite local food truck?

Bottle shared by Dr. Silverworm. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate complex toasted sweet malt and spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted spice sweet flavor with a solid sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer.

Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a clear medium brown color with a thin fizzy head. Fair head retention. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, tart berries, spice, citrus. The taste is tootsie rolls... big chocolate notes... vanilla, soft fruits, spicy finish and mild hops. Medium bodied, smooth, faint lingering spice, drinkable.

3.3
deyholla (12032) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 4, 2012
On tap at the Porter beer bar. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a creamy cocoa note with a bit of underlying cinnamon and sweet dark grains. Flavor starts with cocoa as a good amount of cinnamon and vanilla that makes for quite a sweet finish. A bit too much sweetness for my liking.

3.4
hopscotch (11181) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Bottle... Clear, dark, dirty-orange ale with a small, creamy, taupe head. Cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa, along with a suggestion of sarsaparilla, are easily picked up in the nose. Light to medium-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and buzzing carbonation. The perfectly-balanced flavor provides notes of vanilla and sassafras, but also hints at beef broth, and is thin and uninspiring overall. Finishes minerally and mildly tongue-numbing.
