Poured from bottle in cellar (52F) into snifter. Pours a moderately dark brown, with khaki head. Head is fairly resilient and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma - in one word, I’d say confused - coffee (old), dark red fruits, a touch of cinnamon - the nose is somewhat off-putting immediately after opening. Taste - really complex, dark fruits, smoke, coffee, something a little tart. There’s almost a flavor of roasted hot peppers mid-palate and during the finish. The finish is long and really dark and you can taste a bit of the cocoa nibs and it’s still a bit spicy. I really don’t know what to think of this but I wouldn’t go out of my way to taste this again. 14 feb 2014, bottle. Murky brown. Nose is coffee and rather acidic. Sugary coffee/mocha, dry coffee grounds finish. Something slightly unusual here. I wonder if it's the cinnamon. Maybe it's a bit stale. Ok.

Bottle. Reddish brown. Lots of different flavors trying to come through here and it doesn’t really work that well. Maybe cinnamon chocolate? Not crazy about this one. Gerbeer (3897) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 2, 2014
650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark mahogany with light head. Spicy aromas of chicory, cinnamon, and raisin bread. Flavors of cinnamon, coffee, tobacco, and roasted malts. Quite spicy up front but mellows towards the end. Interesting.

650ml bottle pours a dark brown color with a 2 finger light brown head that leaves some really nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark chocolate with some roasted grains and hints of vanilla. Taste is a bold chocolate malty sweetness with a light roasted grain and coffee bitterness, with hints of vanilla and a touch of cinnamon in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A very interesting brew which I enjoyed sampling immensely. swanmann (777) - Nompton, Oklahoma, USA - JAN 27, 2014
Coffee color with ruby tones and generous tan foam, lively and subsiding gradually. Aromas of soy, cocoa, vanilla, and a bit of boozy vapor. The flavor is sweet, like a porter, some chocolate and vanilla, very mild bitterness, with some warmth and just a bit of sour, fruit finish. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel with soft, smooth carbonation. Very delicious brew DocLock (10975) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 17, 2014

Bottle from the holiday mix pack. Pours dark brown, tan head. Nose is coffee, sweet chocolate, vanilla. Flavour is sweetish vanilla mocha, tobacco, vanilla really works here, first time I’ve said that I believe. Smooth silk.
