3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black with a thin white head. Aroma is strong vanilla and cocoa with a hint of cinnamon. Flavor is big roasted cocoa with a good dose of vanilla. Cinnamon isn’t quite as noticeable in the taste. A bit bitter in the finish, this would benefit a bit from a rounder body. I think it would work well as a porter or stout, but it still packs a good bit of flavor. Makes for a good dessert beer, not overly sweet but a lot of complementary flavors.
Sample @ RBWG Tampa Epic Hotel Share. Thanks to whoever brought this! Deep amber pour with a small head. Fairly peppery nose. Mild coffee and some toasted grain. Similar flavor. Sweet and chewy with a moderately spicy finish. More pepper. Earthy roast. Full body, soft carb. DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 13, 2016
Bottle. Medium nut brown, beige head. Coffee, chocolate, bread, light cinnamon. Nice enough. obguthr (6358) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - FEB 6, 2016
Peanut hulls and cocoa nose, moderately strong and distinctive. Hazy brown, thin yellow head. Clove and cocoa, cinnamon underneath and asserting itself at midpalate. Vanilla and charred oak finish. Unusually light body, easy carbonation. I don’t care for the spicing and additives, but still enjoyable. koleminer20 (3599) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 12, 2015
22 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a medium brown color with a big light tan head and some great soapy lace. The aroma is dominated by cinnamon. There is a little vanilla and some coffee in the background. Maybe a couple hints of cocoa, but it's pretty dominated by the spice. The flavor is much more balanced. The coffee comes through nicely and balances the cinnamon. The vanilla isn't really found in the flavor. The mouth feel is thin and light with a decent carbonation but it doesn't hang around. The aftertaste is somewhat lingering and chocolate shake-ish

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is light, cinnamon and coffee. Appearance is dark brown, khaki head. Taste is light, coffee, a hint of cinnamon and not much else. Mouthfeel is light, carbonation is decent but it’s not great. Overall, meh.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Bull Run - 22 oz bomber. Very dark brown leading to black pour with a long lasting sticky khaki colored head, decent lacing. Aroma has some light cinnamon notes, a touch of chocolate. Full bodied flavor, some vanilla notes, a touch of chocolate, some anise seed, cinnamon in the back end. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Passed this by many a time - these bottles all look alike. jrodooo5 (1672) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - FEB 11, 2015
Mmm, this is one tasty "strong ale." I’d describe this more as an interesting porter or even sweet stout though. The pour is a deep maroon w/ a thin tan head that’s leaves lacing. The aroma is a delightful blend of vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, & coffee. The taste pulls all of these flavors together quite nicely as this is a highly drinkable beer & certainly not your typical strong ale. Quite robust! Nicely done! gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2014
Great strong ale that didn’t kick you in the face but was pleasant. The blend of dessert flavors mixed with the booze gave it an elegant and milky texture. aumentm (452) - North Carolina, USA - OCT 17, 2014
Very impressed with Terripans 2013. Very smooth and the combination of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and cinnamon is amazing. I would recommend this beer to all of my friends. nuplastikk (6289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 27, 2014
500ml shared at Travlrs. Filtered brown-amber. Thin oily head. Nice balance between all the sweetness. Smooth on the palate. The cinnamon and coffee, vanilla are really nice. Pleasant, well-attenuated beer. Good stuff.
