UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 Tap at the Klosterbräustüberl. Clear ruby-brown color with tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, rusty nails, chocolate. Taste is chocolate, rusty nails, earthy. Natural carbonation, full-bodied and refreshing. Good Dunkles, a bit too much rusty nails for my personal liking.

Clear copper with medium beige head. Aroma is dust, raisins, toffee, a little syrup, hints of grapes. Taste is dusty bitterness, some caramel sweetness, less lime juice. Some deep complexity, that is ruined by the dust in the foreground. Medium drinkability, alcohol and dust in the finish. Not so great.

A very under-rated beer. It is best enjoyed semi cold in a proper glass, and goes great with Bavarian Goulash!
