Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a clear pale amber colour with a medium off white head.
Aroma of bready malts, banana, bubblegum, some toffee, slight sugar syrup, a hint of fruit and subtle spice. Taste of bready malts, caramel, banana, some clove, slight toffee, a little sugar, a hint of fruit and subtle spice. Medium bodied and a slick texture. A sweet, slightly fruity, spicy finish. Very sweet and sickly, not very refreshing. Sticky toffee and spicy fruit flavours though. SinH4 (4708) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - APR 9, 2017
UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 Tap at the Klosterbräustüberl. Amber color with tan head and los of bubbles visible. Aroma is bubble gum, toffee, caramel malts, some herbal hops, dried fruits. Taste is toffee, juicy malts, dried fruits, a touch of petroleum, a bit sirupy, medium sweetness. Chewy body, medium carbonation, fruity aftertaste. A very nice "Urbock". Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, light copper colour. Thick, frothy, cream coloured head. Nose has caramel. Syrupy malts. Hint of dried stone fruit. Taste is sweet and lightly spicy. Fleeting bitterness. Syrupy mouthfeel, that’s not great. Has a spicy finish. Ok.

Bronze amber, a little red with little beige head. Dried fruit and fresh citrus, also some booze. Overwhelming sweetness, that was too much for me, bitterness in the long finish. Full body, well balanced carbonation. Overall the sweetness ruined it for me. Apart from that a decent Doppelbock. No idea why this labeled as Heller Bock. Bottle from Robinwood: Appeared a golden blonde liquid and a sturdy foam cap on top. Aroma smells of malted grains and a significant whiff of boozy alcohol. Beer drinks like a heavy hitting bock coming in at 6.9 ABV and leaves behind traces of wheat, grain, and just the right addition of hop that gives a nice spicing. jmanock (36) - - OCT 4, 2015
Pretty good pale bock. Aroma is honey, sticky crystalized sugar, fruit, floral hops, yeast.
pours amber with very little white head and lots of suspended yeast from the bottom of the bottle.
Flavor is well-balanced by hop bitterness and has a nice malt profile and bready chewiness and honey sweetness, but just enough to be interesting and not cloying. could drink a couple bottles, so not too sweet like a doppelbock or a darker bock.
Mouthfeel is slick, medium-high bodied, with a lingering bitterness. Sweetness thankfully doesn’t linger, inviting another sip.
Overall a pretty good beer. Kind of the logical predecessor to Dead Guy Ale. Moravius (1276) - Beijing, CHINA - JUN 25, 2015
Flasche (50 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Orangegelb, fast kupferrot, klar; sahniger Schaum.
