COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts strong-malty, modest roasty with woody notes. Mild-fruity like raisins. Well balanced finish. Almost mild for an Imperial Stout. Nice!

Lore (2288) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 18, 2016
dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of chocolate, soy sauce, yeast, red wine notes, hints of vanilla and dried fruits; taste of chocolate, dried plum and cherry, dry red wine, grape notes, some syrupy sweetness, herbal liqueur and yeasty-soy-like notes; as it warms up even some anise can also be felt; not really a typical imperial stout, but still quite enjoyable

Bottle picked up in the Netherlands, consumed at home cooking Taj Anna loving wari gosht (Cinnamon Lamb Curry) and Ambli anna mudh wari murghi (Roasted Tamarind Chicken with Honey and Red Chilli) at home Sunday 30th October 2016 Pours black (almost) with a very, very fine sediment in suspension, within a rapidly departing light beige head. A touch boozy, chocolate, caramel and a bit of coffee jostling for prominence. I find this a bit below par, just not getting excited at all. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Bottled. 33cl sample. The aroma has roast, licorice, black currant. Black coloured beer with a thin, off-white head. The taste is light-moderate sweet, light bitte, has roast, some dark fruits, bit chocolate. Body is relative thin for an imperial stout.

Bottle. Dark brown, small to average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, light roasted malt and faint barn-yard. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and roasted malt, light coffee and licorice. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel and roasted malt, light coffee and faint salty licorice with faint hoppyness, light alcohol. Sweetish IS with light roastiness - could use more bitterness. Really nothing special.

Bottle, thnx to Secret Sinterklaas 2012. Had this for a long time!! Pours a jet black beer with a nice layer of brownish, creamy head on top. Aroma has loads of coffee, licorice, some yeasty presences as well. Flavor is quite sweet with a big base of licorice in there, accompanied by some bitter spicy touches. The alcohol is present, but suits the beer well. Finish is bittersweet and quite dry, low level of carbonation. Decent Imperial Stout.
