On tap at Brother’s. Clear apple juice pour with a ring of clear white head. Funky fresh apple, light juniper and willow, granny smith apple core. Moderate body and mild carbonation, on the sweet side with some Chardonnay on the finish as things dry out. Interesting.

A hazed golden cider with aroma of juniper berries, light mineral notes, spruce tips, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity apple juice with light juniper notes, light pine needles, apple skins, pleasant and refreshing. On tap at Brother’s Beer Bistro.

Tap at bar hop 2. Clear yellow pour, no head. Aroma is very much like gin. Big juniper note, with subtle honey soaked lemon zest, and some sweet freshly cut apple skins. Mouth feel, and carb are what youd expect. The finish is sweet, and savoury. Solid herbal notes, more juniper, some pine and even a hint of elderberry. The apple seems to take a back seat, buts its always there adding a nice sweetness to cut the copious, and strong herbs. Interesting stuff.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2016 On tap at Bar Hop 2. Pours a very clear pale golden with some legs. Nose is of slight wild yeast and herbs. Gin botanicals indeed! Taste is lightly tart and dry with cloves and herbs again. Fresh. Interesting. Light to medium body, medium-high carbonation. A nice experience!

(On tap at Lansdowne Brewery, Jan 13 2016) Pours clear pale gold with a tiny ring of white bubbles. Aroma of semisweet apple, lots of herbal notes, juniper, tart berries. Taste of very lightly sweet apple with nice acidity and skin, herbs and cut grasses, a little spirit character. The gin character does build a lot as it warms. Finish is pretty dry with a little sweetness and a little tartness, juniper and herbs build in the finish, a little bit of spicebox as well. Fairly light body with average carb. I came into this expecting gin, which I like, and it was there. Could be overbearing for some but I liked it - dry and interesting.

Draught sample at City Cider. Pale yellow-gold with a very slight haze and very little head. Unique aroma of apple, juniper and clove, with a slight woodiness. The gin notes don’t come through quite as strongly in the flavour, but sit nicely in the background behind a good and rather dry cider. Finish has a bit of apple seed bitterness and a quick hit of juniper. Interesting!

[7274-20150605] Tap. Sweet mild apple aroma. Clear, pale yellow gold body with no lasting head. Apple fruit flavour quickly becomes overcome by ginny plant booze. Light-medium body. Interesting but not for me. (7/3/6/3/13) 3.2-

2015-07-07. Crisp pale yellow body, headless. Aroma is woody apple with allusions to vanilla and floral notes. Flavour is interesting, the first sip is sweet but quickly turns bone dry. Lightly tart and astringent, melange of apples and apple cores, hints at apple seeds. Lingering pleasant apple acidity after the shock of the dry finish. Average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Grows on me by I’m not sure if it’s one I would come back to. On tap at Bar Hop, Toronto.

Smooth cider. Gin balanced the cider flavour. Decent drinkability. Good apple and floral aroma. Worth a try for cider fans.
