COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Bold American Barleywine. As bitter and big as it can get. Hoppy, sticky, malty, red and strong, this beast will fill your blood with alpha acids. Definitely for the brave.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2016 Tasted some time ago. Bottle. Teku. Deep amber/reddish with small, very lightly red head, but with well lacing. Aroma is strong and "sweet" - mainly heavy caramel, along with ripped red fruits empowered by strong citrus notes. Taste is sweet, rather dominated by malts, but in the end flavor becomes more and more bitter, finishing with highly bitter and moderately dry. Medium to full body, sticky almost oily, average carbonation. In general classical american barley wine with strong malty backbone, but perfectly balanced with hops in the end. The hoppy aromas are not so clear, but maybe due to a pretty long stay in my cellar.

IlGagario (119) - Modena, ITALY - MAR 9, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2016 In bottiglia. Colore arancio molto scuro/marrone. Schiuma corta, compatta, a shampoo, colore bianco opaco/crema di caffè, grassa e pannosa, di media persistenza. Olfatto intensamente maltato, con alcool, lievito, resina, cardo, sabbia, polvere, carta antica e china. Carbonazione soffice, acuta in palato, alcoolica e leggermente piccante. Aroma di frutta rossa scura in parte secca, prugna, alcool, resina amara, zucchero bruciato, uva fragola americana, erbe. Gusto nettamente alcoolico, molto dolce, poi amaro pieno.
