330 ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Sandefjord. Clear deep, deep amber body with a moderate sized pale beige head. Nice hoppy aroma dominated by pine with medium roasted malt, toast and a hint of coffee. Flavor of sweet, medium roasted malt, dark chocolate, pine and good bitterness. Medium body with a long, pleasant and bitter aftertaste. Tasty and quaffable BIPA. 33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours black with a beige head. Pours black with a beige head. Hoppy aroma with licorice, chocolate, citrus, pine, fruits and roasted malt with hints of coffee. Medium sweet with a quite decent bitterness. A bit strange and different, but tasty and interesting. A bit disappointed at first, but certainly a nice brew in my book. A very fresh 330 ml bottle @ Rosses i Torrades, Barcelona. Pours a pitch black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of very strong and pungent floral hops, licorice and roasted malts. Flavour is massively bitter with some citrusy notes and herbs, very subtle caramel notes, earthiness, dark chocolate and coffee. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a very long, tangy, bitter finish. Alcohol is rather well hidden. Excellent balance and the hops just keep on lingering after several minutes. A big beer which even beats Stone’s Sublimely. Straight to my top-10 you go. Bottle. Pours translucent black with a small creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts, raisins, dates and liquorice, as well as some hoppy orange peel. Creamy body with average carbonation. Flavour is bitter, with burned malts and some notes of caramel, sweet liquorice and berries, before a great hoppy bitterness of grapefruit and orange peel. Also finishes off with a long bitter and slightly burned. Very black in appearance, but very IPA in flavour. Arve_Christian (5144) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 10, 2013
