Rating #6 from danish beer festival 2010.
THE experience of the day. Hazy golden look with a forced white head. Completly mouthwatering in any way. Flavor is a mix of sweet oranges, grapefuit and citrus on one side with a heavy rubbery sourness on the other. One of the most acidic brews i’ve had, resulting in the moutwater. Its backed up by a sugery sweetness, like fresh grabe with suger which i also love. Had to get two :) konstifik (573) - SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2010
Sampled at Copenhagen Beerfestival 2010. Hazy yellow beer with a white head. Aroma of white wine, barnyard, sourness and green hops in a very nice mix. Not overly complex or tart, but still has a nice bite to it that makes it very drinkable and quenching and still amazingly enjoyable. Great stuff! Hmmm... pretty much my favourite hops blended with the world’s best lambic? Are you kidding me? WIN. Ok, maybe the Girardin was over powered by the epic Nelson Sauvin but it’s hard to complain. It’s hard to write notes for this. It’s just a Sauvin lambic and due to that and Alex’s brilliant bit of dry hopping, it’s just bloody brilliant. Maybe the other versions were more subtle and let the Girardin breathe a little more but I drink the base beer often. Brilliant. So brilliant in fact that I can say for certain, I have never been to a festival and forgone so many rates to drink so many glasses of the same beer. I want this dispensed from my fridge. Alex, you rock.
Draught at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Cloudy golden, airy headd. Distinct aroma of goosebeery and black currant. Soft and tart, vinous with tanninic bitterness. Lemony with lovely hops flavour. The most interesting of the series, but in all I preferred the subtleness of the saaz version where full complexity of the base lambic still prevailed. On tap. Cloudy golden with a medium off white head. The aroma is lots of peaches, passion fruit, light burned rubber, fruit and light acid. The flavour is quite acidic with lots of Nelson character like peach, passion fruit, citrus, grapefruit and some pine. Great! Soft textured. Lovely!

Pours muddy pale amber with a big, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has plant sap, oranges, apples, tartness and rather zesty. Low carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is wonderfully sour, barnyard, apple, citric, light lactic. Fabolous. The hops really accentuate the tartness and the elegance of the underlying lambic.
This is a competitor for Cantillon when it comes to tartness. Quite a complex taste, with a finish that my wife described as "a hint of vomit". Some bitterness and acidity there do in fact have something which resembles bile and stomach acid. But, contrary to its somewhat disgusting description, this is an excellent lambic. Girardin never disappoints. M’ARCOlizzo (31) - ITALY - MAY 9, 2010
Copenhagen BeerFestival 2010, on tap.
Handpumped. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and mild citric. Citric to acidic flavoured. Crisp bitter and winegrapes fruity. Nice combination. Acidic and dry into a lingering fruity finish. Solid bitter and acidic.
