’Versnijbier’ blended from three different beers, one of which is aged on sherry barrels to add woodiness and complexity. Very limitedly produced (only 450 litres). Off-white head, very dark bronze colour. Aroma of sour apples, balsamic vinegar, candied fruits, vanilla, wood, sour cream, rubber... Lots of vivid, estery fruitiness in the taste like in many sour ales, lactic acidity, sherry, some coffee, chocolatey malts, delicate mouthfeel, woody, with a light roasted bitterness in the finish. Unbelievably complex beer, a stunning masterpiece, a shame they did not make more of it. Theydon_Bois (19501) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2014
Bottle split at Chriso, #4 of 50, big thanks to Kenny 10/07/14.
Dark mahogany brown with a good sized light beige covering.
Nose is tarte dark fruit, sour red berry mash, dank wood tones, spice, light caramel wafer.
Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, woody rinse, spice, vineous licks, light apple orchard, citric vinegar light.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, tangy dark fruit rinse in the close.
Decent enough sour.

Bottle 4 of 50 thanks to Kenny! It pours dark brown with a small white head. The nose is sweet, vanilla, toasty, candy, cocoa, dried fruits and wood. The taste is crisp, tart, dried berry, candy, sherry, some acidity. granny smith apple, lemon zest and a touch of jam with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff. Decent for a heavy duty sour. weaselkenievil (1608) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2012
Draft at 4:20, Rome, thanks Alex! Dark brown, pretty much no head. Interesting and quite enjoyable in my opinion. Quite sweet, prunes, wine, some sourness but balanced with the sweetness, fruity jam, wood. Yep, really enjoyed it. Good work. Mortlach (2347) - Rome, ITALY - JAN 10, 2012
20/04/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).

@ ACBF 2011. The aroma has dark fruits, some roast, yeast. Clear, brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is sourish, tart, has dark fruitiness, some sweetness, chocolate, caramel. Interesting. Cipressaia (53) - ITALY - SEP 13, 2011
Aroma di tostato, ciliegie e lieviti, gusto complesso, acido abbastanza estremo e dolce. Mi è piaciuta parecchio. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - AUG 12, 2011
Aroma is light brett, green apple, barn and hay.
Flavour is quite sweet, followed by brett, followed by light stout, followed by brett. Nice one. NoiZe (2323) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2011
Had this one at the ACBF 2011. Brown colored brew. Moderate sourness, some malts, dark fruits, very dry.
