bottle thanks to bu11zeye. poured gold with an off-white head. aroma was orange and caramel and almost seemed to have a wood character. flavor was the same with some pine. flavor was light and fizzy. kermis (14494) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2011
Bottle shared with friends. Hazy amber pour with thick off-white head. Aroma of pine, hops and wood. Flavour is citrus, soap, spice and bread with a bitter finish. ChainGangGuy (4920) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 15, 2011
The Revelation Cat Woodwork Series. Let’s line’m up and knock’m down. The base beer seems a good place to start.

Appearance: Pours a clear, darkened orange body with a tall, unabashed, off-white head.
Smell: Toasted maltiness in the nose with some caramelized sugars traces to it. Pinch of spice. Slight hint of dried apricot. Citrus peel notes, though with more of an orange-like quality for me.
Taste: Moderately sweet, with a taste of toasty, bready malt. Hint of inherent apricot fruitiness. Orangesque hop flavor with a low bitterness and mild hints of late-arriving spice and resinous pine. Drying, lightly citrusy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: Buy simply one of these Woodwork beers would make about as much sense as buying just the rook bishop from a chess set. You’ll need all the pieces present for this undertaking. Speaking of chess, I’ll make the first move: e4.

Woody aroma. Hazy blond/amber pour. Slightly bitter. Very nice! Habanero (4798) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2011
Bottled. Pours slightly hazy, amber with a medium sized off-white head, that’s leaves some fair lacings. Fruity nose and course with a strong suggestion of passionfrui and notes of yeast. Flavour again with citrus, passionfruit and caramel notes. Medium to full bodied, creamy to oily texture and lively carbonation. Ends up nice bitter and with an alcohol touch. An excellent brew, so I can’t wait to try a barrel aged.

bottle at tasting. a dark gold beer with a large white head. the base beer was quite simple. a good experimental idea in theory, although, i think the wood aged version needed a longer time in the barrel. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - AUG 24, 2011
tasting on 8/20/11. deep orange pour with a 1-2 finger white head. aged hop nose with caramel. sweet malt mouthfeel with big orange / cream notes. semi-dry finish with light fruits / apple.
Sehr gut gelungen. Ein prima Bier.Test vom 10.2.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche SirLimpsalot (4452) - SWEDEN - JUL 26, 2011
Flaska på Pikkulintu 2011. Maltig doft, diskreta humletoner och tyvärr ingen stor smakssensation. hellbilly (3247) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 22, 2011
base beer bottle next to french and american at dak’s 8/14/10.
hazy. yellowy tinted brownish amber color with a creamy tan head.
the aroma is really malty and full of caramel. the other notes include orange, peach, onion and something vegetal.
the flavor is the same but quite sweet. it does manage to get spicy on the finish as it dries out.
it is full bodied, slick and very alcoholic. 7/4/6/3/15
