Got this on a whim because the beer I wanted was out and I panicked. Bready pilsner, light fruit and caramelized sugar. Nice Oktoberfest if not a bit on the sweet side. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - MAR 19, 2013
Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Very light fruity malt aroma, and a light cider vinegar aroma developed as it warmed. Hazy orange with a large ivory head. Vegetal malt, grassy astringent hops, and light spice flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. AirForceHops (8037) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 5, 2013
5 oz. taster @ R.I. Brewfest 2 February 2013. And a 12oz. bottle, price of $2.49 @ Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. Color is a nearly clear orange with ample carbonation. Gives a nice tingle on the tongue. Nose has that distinct German hop and malt aroma. My lager glass had lots of spider web lacing as I drank. Flavor is on the lines of a classic Marzen, nice and malty sweetness throughout, but dominated by a sharp bitterness of a European hop variety. Lighter in body. I enjoyed a lot from the tap and the bottle was nearly as good. auerbrau (3206) - Ithaca, New York, USA - OCT 28, 2012
12oz Bottle, purchased at Wakefield Liquors - Wakefield, RI. Lightly Munich-y aroma, with some coarse grain and cooked sugar. Out of the gate, this pushes some crystalline, crackling sugar, a bit of bitterness and some alcohol. The sweetness isn’t overbearing, but there’s some gummy, estery yeast strength, lacking a cool, clean, crisp lager quality. Otherwise, the sugar profile is pretty decent and expressive, but the bitterness on the backend is a bit off-putting and too much. colinize (316) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 13, 2012
First rating? Served at GABF 2012. Very light gold thick head malty aroma not bad but not great balanced.
