Brown to burgundy body with a soft, light beige head. The aroma offers booze, sugars, raisins, toffee, oak. Sweet breads and fruit soaked in booze. Maybe some cotton candy. Apples and rum in the finish. Lots of big flavor, but perhaps this would mellow out a bit with age. Overall, pretty good. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 13, 2014
My Bottom Line:jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - JAN 1, 2014
The deepest malt caramelization quickly seduces the nose, leaving the indelible print of salient cereal sugars and fruit jam onto tastebuds writhing in pleasure.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the cloudy amber brown.
-Alcohol helps lighten the back end.
-Straight Jacket and this one are obvious proof that this brewery is to be taken very seriously in any very malty endeavours they undertake.
-This one is only a year old and it already feels wiser than most Barley Wines out there.
-This is in the same family as Angel’s Share, J.W.Lee’s Harvest Ale, Dieu du Ciel! Solstice d’Hiver Bourbon, etc..
Bottled in Jan. ‘13.
Sticky sweet with very boozy rum flavors. Has some bitter resinous notes from the hops that attempt to balance the sweetness, but it doesn't quite marry. Good, but not great.

750 ml bottle crushed with the dude. Pours a dirty brown color with almost no head. Big sweet aroma of tons of booze, rum, sweet malt notes, vanilla and barrel notes. Flavor is sweet with big booze notes. Fruity sweetness, barrel notes. Slick, oily mouthfeel. Finishes boozy. Nice. That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Bomber crushed with Honkeybra. Pours murky brown with a little head. Tons of vanilla on the nose, with some ethyl acetate and booze. Flavor is more vanilla, some sweetness and more booze. Not much rum to speak of. Pretty damn good though.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks to Kyle for the pour! Dark reddish orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought big notes of rum, nice caramel, toffee, slight dark fruits, hints of earth, slight spice in there, touch of hops but pretty hidden. Taste is a mix of dark boozy rum, some slight earth, nice caramel, burnt sugars, toffee, hints of earth, grain, touch of spicy hops, finishing with some sweet rum and dark fruit notes. Actually was pretty good, but a bit hot.
