Sample at the Blarney Wine tasting on 03/16/2013: The beer pours a hazy mahogany color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Boozy aroma with malt and vanilla notes. Full, syrupy body with flavors of earthy malt, rum and wood. The finish is sweet with a rum and oak aftertaste. Pretty good overall. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - SEP 22, 2013

Bottle, dated January 2013. Poured a deep dark brown. Had a little bit of a sweet feel to it, slightly boozy but not overly so. Big caramel notes. I can’t recall having a rum barreled beer before, so I’m not sure what to compare it to. Nice beer though. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Draft at the 3rd year anniversary party. Will have to re-rate a bottle in a few months. Pours a hazed orangey gold with a sticky white head. Nose is big. Faint citrus and a hit of molasses, rich malty sweetness and booze. Sharp alcohol in the nose overall. Clean fermentation, though. On tasting, it is on the hot side with aggressive alcohol prickling the palate. Could use a touch more body. The rum notes are more subdued on the palate but do offer some raisin notes. An interesting beer that should mellow nicely in the bottle in a few months time. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 1, 2013
651mL at the RBWG after party in the middle of the hotel lobby thanks to b3shine. Pours a clear amber orange with yellow foam. Spotty lace. Nose is maple, strawberry, sugar, malted milkshake powder, mild cognac. Taste is sticky strawberry, sugar, warming alcohol, sticky orange. Enjoyable though.

Taster pour also had during their anniversary party... Pours a semi-transparent mostly hazy coppery amber hue and topped with a lighter shade of beige, gently reducing down to a wispy film...aroma of dark fruit vanilla coconut and boozy spirit. Sweet and boozy but generally nice and satisfying. ... Flavors are nice albeit pretty warming and boozy with an emphasis with dark fruit, banana, and a coconut vanilla-ey barrel presence where the rum adds a bit of a dark fruity essence. Semi-prickly carbonation with a somewhat fuller body overall. The flavor profile is enjoyable but its a bit in your face for the most part. A sipper but a nice one at that. drowland (8938) - Georgia, USA - JUL 16, 2013
6/29/13. 22oz bottle shared by nulledge. Murky amber pour with a small khaki head. The aroma is boozy with lots of rum and some caramelized bananas. The flavor is sweet, also boozy, with caramel, bananas, bubblegum, and brown sugar. I’m thinking the barrel and sugars messed this one up a bit... not bad. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks to Kyle for the pour! Dark reddish orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought big notes of rum, nice caramel, toffee, slight dark fruits, hints of earth, slight spice in there, touch of hops but pretty hidden. Taste is a mix of dark boozy rum, some slight earth, nice caramel, burnt sugars, toffee, hints of earth, grain, touch of spicy hops, finishing with some sweet rum and dark fruit notes. Actually was pretty good, but a bit hot. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 11, 2013
FWIBF. Pours with a hazy brownish hued body with a small tan head. Looks almost brandy like and very thick. Aromas are boozy, caramel, grassy, barrel, citrus, rum, molasses, booze and curacao. Flavors are boozy, rum, barrel, medium bitter, caramelized sugars, molasses. Sweet finish lots of alcohol. Warming, That1Guy (2237) - Colorado, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Bomber crushed with Honkeybra. Pours murky brown with a little head. Tons of vanilla on the nose, with some ethyl acetate and booze. Flavor is more vanilla, some sweetness and more booze. Not much rum to speak of. Pretty damn good though.
