COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amarillo Hero, our newest member of the Hero League, showcases the hop’s intense citrus and floral notes. A simple, delicate malt bill allows the fruit basket of aromas to take center stage while a touch of Citra and Mandarina layered in amplify this Hero’s juicy characteristics. Clean bitterness rounds this beer out resulting in a crisp, refreshing IPA.

Pours butterscotch amber, with a substantial froth head. Aroma – citrus, resin and spice and a hint of funk. Taste is dry with a nice hop bitterness. Palate has a nice body for an IPA. Solid single hop IPA.

Can. Lightly cloudy golden body with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, floral hops, orange, toasted grain, pineapple, The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean, balanced. Not especially assertive and a bit sweet, but tastes of orange, lemon, citrus, toasted bread, light floral. Nice.

A sweet spicy resin aroma. A clear bold gold with a long lasting head about a finger thick. Bold bitterness but isn't overwhelming. It has grain maltiness which gives it a smoothness. Reminds me of an "English-style" IPA. Respectable and enjoyable.

milewide (2356) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - FEB 10, 2018
Well balanced IPA. Has aroma, flavor, with ending hop bitterness. Dark gold color. $2.39 single 12 ounce can is reasonable.

b3shine (9359) - Indiana, USA - JAN 25, 2018
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent fuller gold with foamy eggshell head. Smells and tastes of floral and citrusy hops alongside a moderately bittersweet backbone. A hint of soap on the tongue as well. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and moderately bitter. Good, not great. A full pint would be plenty.

trapped (3884) - New York, TURKEY - JAN 3, 2018
Can. Pours faintly cloudy golden yellow with foamy white head, sweetish malt aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter piney taste, smooth body, long medium bitter finish. A mellow, decent IPA.

tmoreau (4818) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - DEC 12, 2017
On tap during a farewell gathering to John's Restaurant & Tavern in Winfield, IL., served to a shaker showing a clear, golden hue, with a lingering layer of soft white froth, and foamy cling to the lacing. The nose was fruity perfume, light sweetness, citrus as grapefruit & orange, and slight notes of resin & rind. Medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste was similar notes, with moderate citrus & rind-like bitterness. A pleasant IPA that livened a sad occasion...a bit.

Thanks to Party Bob for this 12 oz. canned 08-22-1017. Mostly clear orange-amber with nice legs and a half inch of meringue head. Really good looking beer. Aroma is big with evergreen resin, peppery citrus zest and a touch of spicy toffee. Flavor is resin and toffee with citrus zest and a bit of mint in the finish. Light-medium bodied with medium carbonation and an easy drinker with a dry slant. No sign of the 7.2%.

3.5
tfontana (1228) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 10, 2017
Can pour into nonic pint glass from Redstone Liquors, Stoneham. Appearance is lightly hazy (fine white particulates) yellow-orange with minimal sparkle, massive 4+ finger width rocky, foamy white head with decent retention and fair sudsy lacing. Aroma is dank resin over citrus. Taste is lightly bitter dank resin with mild citrus, late cracker malt. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with foamy texture, average carbonation and mild bittersweet finish as taste. Overall, the aromas and flavors are a bit more muted than the other IPA's in this "hero pack." Not bad, but doesn't stand out.

3.9
Finhead (1861) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - OCT 26, 2017
Slightly hazy, gold pour with a rocky, white head. The aroma has big citrus notes of orange and lemon. It has a medium body with somewhat oily texture and lively carbonation. The taste is bitter and lip-smacking good with a semi-dry finish.
