COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In November of 2010, we filled 1 Jack Daniels and 1 Heaven Hill Rye Whiskey barrel with our Barleywine (Institutionalized). The combination of these two unique barrels yield a very rich and complex finished product. Deep aromas and flavors of dark stone fruits, bourbon, molasses, toasted coconut and vanilla come in waves as you swirl this beer in the snifter.

Future releases, especially the first bottle release saw this offering aged exclusively in Woodford Reserve barrels. This is noted for the 2012 December Release, but will not be seperated out.

Bottle at a tasting - thanks, Kevin! Known as Straight Jacket now. Relatively pale brown color with a large tan head. Aroma is caramel, fruit, berries, even a touch of berry tartness. Caramel, toffee, vanilla flavor, medium sweet. Medium bodied, light for style, carbonation on the higher side. Good but not worthy of the hype some have bestowed on it.

Keg at World of Beer Wauwatosa, 9/13/16. Listed as Straight Jacket. Hazy dark amber, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, booze, bourbon, oak. The taste is toffee, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, dark fruit, whiskey. Medium-full bodied, low carbonation, boozy. Nice beer.

2014 vintage. Clear dark Amber with a thin light tan head. Sticky sweet nose that’s got a weird sugary tone about it with some boozy pale and Amber malts. Great flavor though that’s got wood, cherry, currant, caramalt, bright malty booze and a big dose of sweetness and stone fruit. Really tasty.

With Z, pours a maroon Amber pour with a beige head. Nose is oak, vanilla and whiskey. Taste is heavy thick whiskey with anoaky vanilla sweet notes. Ends on the very heavy whiskey notes, sweetly and dryly with a moderately long finish . A very nice sipper! quaff score 8 / 10

650ml bottle from ck1, shared by all at poker night. Thanks bro! Big thick pour with little head. Aroma has stone fruits, candied fruits, and big sweet malts. Taste is of plums, other stone fruits, and some citrus & candy all on a vanilla caramel thick malt base. Blend was well done, and the body was quite thick. Lowly carbonated and alcoholly. Finishes sweetly thick and tart. Quite strong and quite good ... but a sipper. 13.8
