On tap at the brewpub. Orange hazy. Nice head of medium bubbles which dissipates rather quickly. Fresh, fruity nose w/ a bunch of a lavender baby powder character. Light to medium bodied. Lightly tart and crisp w/ just a hair to much bitterness (which is really not distracting). Vigorous carbonation. If you like hoppy saisons, this is a good one.

Sampled at the brewpub. It poured a clear orange color with a white head. The aroma was of hops and yeast with a medium body and a slick texture with flat carbonation. The taste was bittersweet with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Nice.

Sweet grain malts, caramel, light barnyard, yeast. Hazy, pale gold, small, creamy, white head. Light sweet. Sweet grain malts continue, caramel, molasses, some barnyard, soft carbonation. Decent Saison, nothing too crazy, very well behaved barnyard. Keg at brewpub, Chicago.

tmoreau (3920) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - SEP 18, 2012
On tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL., and served to house stemware showing a hazed, orangy gold color, modest, soft white head foam that reduced quickly to a ring & film, and left some light, wavy lacing on the glass. The nose was light yeast, mid-fruit as apricot/peach, citrus as orange, and light spiciness. The flavor presented soft malt, some alcohol warmth, a moderate, lingering hop bitterness, with earthy & peppery notes. The body was medium, with good effervescence, and pleasant dryness complemented the bitter finish. Spot on style interpretation.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2011 Draft, a keg held back about 9 months at the pub, pours sweet toffee notes floral and herbal hop notes fl are very sweet and candy like with earthy grainy and spice notes. Way too sweet man rev cannot brew a decent saison. 2.9 4/13/11, a fresh draft pour rerate, seemed like a Matilda clone, big phenolic character, spicy hop and yeast notes, bit big and sweet like Matilda but tasty too. Much better fresh, aging this with Brett could do wonders.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, grainy/rice malt, and spices. Flavor of yeast, bready malt, lots of spices (pepper) in the background, some tangy citrus. A good, spicy saison. 7/4/8/4/14 [3.7/5]

Bottle at Dan’s, courtesy of Armin. Big thanks man! Pour is hazy lemon in appearance with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Tart lemon peel, wheat, white pepper, light pineapple, yeast, and pear in the aroma. Taste is very spicy, bread, pepper, light pineapple, booze, citrus, and band-aid. Nice. Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff.

The beer is fairly hazy, appearing copper to orange hued with an off-white head. The aroma offers malt, sweet and sour apples, green, earth. Earth and mineral water character. Perhaps a mild tartness. Medium bodied, finishing dry with a hint of spice. Overall, this was okay.
