Another great offering from Chicago local brewer, Revolution. Aroma is malty and bready and has a bit of sourness to it. Almost like a cider but with some other fruit. Can smell the alcohol a bit. It’s a dark and cloudy, deep orangish color and has a small head that leaves very little lacing. Taste is bread, cereal and yeast with some sourness and the sweet notes are pear, maybe some apricot and wheatgrass. It’s a medium body and very smooth. Some alcohol comes through but doesn’t overpower. A very nice Saison. monkeychugg55 (1115) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Hazy yellow with a nice head. The aroma is noble hops, some light spice, and yeast esters. The flavor is similar with with a slightly tart, somewhat sweet finish. Very refreshing, well done. naivepegasus (389) - USA - JUL 21, 2013
Pours a slightly hazy yellow/orange with an excessive amount of stark white foamy head. Some banana and lemon zest hits right away with a nice refreshing bitter crispness to finish. Nicely complex, one of the better Saisons I’ve had. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 3, 2013
The beer has a really nice golden hue with some haziness to it, well carbonated and has minimal lacing. The smell has some great floral notes, some decent spiciness with a hint or citrus/orange. The decent is really well balanced, minmial spice and mild sweetness and holds on really well. The mouthfeel afterwards mildly lingers with some mild bitterness and sweetness. Overall, this is really well balance of floral, sweetness, cirtus, spice, and tips the scales between a saison and potentially a triple. jh773 (320) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Served in a tulip glass at the Revolution brewpub in Logan Square. Smells vaguely floral. Tastes like apples and spice, like apple cider but not sweet at all. Finishes very dry and spicy. I like this one a lot.

From a bomber in a snifter. Nice spicy flavor, very well balanced, some hops but they are nicely muted and balanced out by the other flavors. Slight alcohol burn. Really good Saison. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 27, 2010
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a hazy murky glowing orange, a bit darker, some tannish elements with a good offwhite head that stays decent sized, laces well. Aromas are a subtle fruity yeasty blend, a touch of spice mixed with apple, pear, and mellow banana. Grainy malts, a touch of wheat, and vanilla come in with dry and decent bittering hops, floral and earthy. Initial is nice, flavorful malts and fruity esters attack the palate, banana, apple, pear mix with a touch of bubblegum, citrus, vanilla, faint honey, good bitterness that let’s the dominant yeasty spice and fruit stay master, but balances well, drys out to a near champagne quality. A touch of orange, floral and earthy hops, and lingering spice stick to the palate. One of the better Saisons I’ve had from Chicagoland. Tasty, inoffensive, balanced well. Pulls several elements and flavors together well. Newk (299) - - MAR 4, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2012 poured from tap at revolution. Poured into a tulip with a slightly hazy yellow/gold color and a nice head.
Very good aromas of spice, lemon peels, and citrus notes. Well balanced, but lacking a bit of depth.
Well balanced with a smooth medium feel. Flavorful with notes of citrus, spices and some navel oranges.
This version is at 8.1% and it’s not really noticeable. A more citrusy take on a saison. The feel is a bit lighter than I’d personally like, but this is a very good and enjoyable beer. Steve_0 (3818) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 29, 2012
Bottle at Dan’s, courtesy of Armin. Big thanks man! Pour is hazy lemon in appearance with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Tart lemon peel, wheat, white pepper, light pineapple, yeast, and pear in the aroma. Taste is very spicy, bread, pepper, light pineapple, booze, citrus, and band-aid. Nice. Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff. Tmoney99 (15120) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Tap. Poured a clear orange golden color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate hop and yeast aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. I would highly recommend this to a friend.
