COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crisp golden ale with a delicate hop finish. This is our lightest ale and it is brewed with a bit wheat malt for body and Munich and Aromatic malts for and undertone of honey-like sweetness. Lightly dry-hopped with Cascade hops for that classic American golden ale aroma.

phaleslu (10670) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Draft pint at Skylark in Chicago after FOBAB. Consumed about 60% before knocking the rest into my lap. Wisely cut myself off after that. Pours a clear golden color with a bit of eggshell white head. Clean pale and somewhat sweet malts, a bit of straw, mellow grassy and citrusy hops, and some wheat. Light-bodied, with mellow carbonation and a clean mouthfeel. Nice, fresh, and bright.

superspak (6015) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - OCT 12, 2013
22 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 6/19/2013. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright golden color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big orange peel, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange rind, floral, grass, wheat, light honey, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with big citrus hop presence and moderate malt balance; with good strength. Taste of orange zest, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, floral, grass, bread, wheat, light honey, and floral earthiness. Slight floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, grass, bread, wheat, light honey, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of citrus hop flavors with a moderate malt balance; with good flavor robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice blond ale! All around good balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Westmeister (2127) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Pours a lightly hazed gold with thinnish white head. Smell is light citrus hop, sweet light malts, light caramel, bready. Taste is light citrus, doughy, crisp malts, light fruity. Bigger hop component than one would think for the style. Has some body for such a light drinker. Not bad, for a session type.

Had this at their place in Chicago. All the beer unless noted otherwise were good to very good. Unfortunately this was rated with another program and I can't import my comments.

7/21/2011: Revolution Cross of Gold (Gold Ale)... Aroma: Muted citrus hops. Appearance: Creamy off-white crown; golden, clean complexion; fleck-like lacing. Flavor: Crisp - dry hop finish; mild bitterness with nice, bright hop flavor that isn’t too large for the style. Palate: Light weight. Overall: Easily sessionable; I likes!

Draught (5.0% ABV) at Revolution in Chicago, IL. Rating #75 for this beer.
