COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crisp golden ale with a delicate hop finish. This is our lightest ale and it is brewed with a bit wheat malt for body and Munich and Aromatic malts for and undertone of honey-like sweetness. Lightly dry-hopped with Cascade hops for that classic American golden ale aroma.

Had this at their place in Chicago. All the beer unless noted otherwise were good to very good. Unfortunately this was rated with another program and I can't import my comments.

Aroma is pale malts, citrus/light tropical fruit and a small hint of sweetness. The flavor is pale/biscuit malts, tropical fruit, tart fruit, a hint of sweetness and a medium low but definitely there bitterness in the finish. Definitely reminiscent of a bitter, great ale.

Slightly hazy gold with a small white head. The aroma has some toasted and malty notes, with slightly earthy, floral, and citrusy hops. The flavor is much the same, with a little more citrus. Nicely balanced finish, very satisfying.

On tap.

Light, slightly cloudy straw-gold without much head. Very pleasant fruity nose with a bit of sharp hop bitterness. Flavor is an excellent balance of crisp clean hops, grassy notes, and juicy, vaguely citrusy fruits. Highly flavorful. Thicker body than expected, tingly palate. Even top-quality breweries often play it safe with their "entry-level" beer, usually so that non-beer-snobs who tag along with their beer-snob friends have something they can enjoy. This is the first beer I’ve tried from this brand-new brewery, and with it they’ve put the world on notice that they’re not compromising for anyone.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2013 Draft at rev, pours clear uh, gold with small white head. Nose has a delicate soft grassy and peppery hop notes, honey malt base. Flavor has a nice simple cereal and honey malt backbone while grassy, leathery, and peppery hops cleanse the palate. Sweet finish gets annoying after a few ounces. A pretty simple, balanced golden ale only problem is it comes off pedestrian, like it was brewed at every rock bottom in the country. That may not be fair, but I’m in Logan square not the burbs. 3.4.

After a few years since my first impressions of this beer it clearly deserves a re-rate. I’m not sure if the beer changed at all or my palate or appreciation for more mild session beers has but this is a really beautiful blonde ale. Draft pour just kept me coming back for me with how wonderfully balanced and executed this beer is. Nothing really crazy about this blonde, but it seems to define the style (in a good way) very well, really enjoyable hop character that’s clean, smooth, floral, and citrusy. fermentation is very clean leaving a dry and light mouth feel, malt base has a slight honey character, simple and crisp. I could drink this beer for hours.
