Can says 14.8%. The aroma is bourbon, some licorice. Pours almost black, with tan head mostly diminishing and good lacing. The taste is a medium/full bitter. The body is full, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. Very good stout!! coachd (1030) - Missouri, USA - MAR 3, 2018
Smells like the inside of a bourbon barrel. Shiny black with a tiny brown head. Tastes balanced, more sweetness than roast, hops or alcohol. I was hoping for a stronger taste. ABV will hidden. Good, but a 9 oz pour was plenty for me. I wouldn’t want a whole bottle, it’s just too sweet.

Packs a smooth punch. Has a wonderful coating factor that is inviting for the palate. You can defiantly notice the bourbon barrel aging. The force is strong with this one.

Thnx to 90! Pours black, no real head. Smell is burnt, very roasty, bit of hospital scent. Taste is sharp, bit boozy, bourbon. medium-high heat from the alcohol. Intensely roasty. Medium-thick MF, medium-low carbo.

Thanks to Trevor Perri!
Wow! Bourbon all over the place! Great bourbon aroma with hints of roasted grains. Deep dark roast, countered by roast. A tad coffee and chocolate. There is a taste component which i can't figure out but what which makes this beer unique. fraternie (1034) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 15, 2018
Aptly named, as this pours thick and like tar. This isn't bashful on the bourbon, which hits up front with an intense blast, leading into rich chocolate flavors that gain complexity from undertones of smoke and vanilla. Notes of licorice and black plum add sweetness as this lingers with power. This version clocks in at 14.8% abv and that is covered incredibly well, but this thing packs a punch. Thick and boozy even for the style. Beerowulf (136) - , Indiana, USA - JAN 14, 2018
On tap. Deep black. Half finger head. Very smooth with the ABV well masked. Licorice and chocolate notes. A great Russian Imperial. AirForceHops (8284) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 13, 2018
12 oz. can purchased at Binny's, South Loop. Awesome appearance. Deep roasted notes of grain, chocolate and barley. The bourbon is not hidden at all. The bourbon character is bold in the flavor. No alcohol flavor even after the swallow. However, the warming from said alcohol does warm the belly. It is not surprising considering the ABV level.. And on that note, this will age gracefully. A real beast of a stout!! I actually sampled a variation of this before the base stout. Just awesome! chucklemation (1825) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - JAN 6, 2018
Pours a jet black with a very foamy tan head. Aroma is lots of bourbon along with vanilla and dark fruit, as well as chocolate and roast in the background. Flavor is similar, much more defined by the wood and earth than the nose is. Sweet with a smooth, full body. Delicious.
