Hazy orange-brown. Soapy, steady beige head. Chocolate banana aroma, similar taste. Mild and refreshing. Watery sweet finish. OK, true to style, but lacks much depth. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 27, 2011
draft at rev, pours murky brown with white head. Nose of wheat, plum, banana and cloves. flavors has an nice cherry character with bananas and cloves, big wheat body. my notes suck on this one but i remember things just not coming together well on this one especially when I drank the oktoberfest along side which was fantastic. Draft sample. Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted dark malt aroma. Medium body with a oily smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium dark sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. TheEnemy (564) - Chicago, USA - OCT 12, 2011

Pours a rich cloudy cupric hue with nice foamy-creamy white head leaving good rings of lace. Aroma is of dark bready malts with touches of molasses, banana and clove, not very intense on the nose. Flavor is dark but sweet grainy bread, odd off-tart note, Sweetness quickly fades off leaving a dry crunchy grain aftertaste. Flavor comes off a little flat, clunky, and disjointed. Medium body with some tingle on the tongue. Not terribly impressed; this certainly doesn’t come close to challenging Piece’s Dark and Curvy as the best dunkelweizen in town.
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2011 aroma is light caramel, not overwhelmingly sweet, some nuttiness. a handful of fleeting esters, at best. largely neutral, clean scent. appearance is ruby/deep mahogany, well polished. flavor is caramel, excellent crunch, nuttiness to boot comes in bounds. still no sign of weizen yeast.

Draft @ Rev. Pours hazy brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of banana, clove. Decent spice - sort of reminded me of a similar Piece beer. Light and refreshing, pretty well done. drdisque (886) - Illinois, USA - OCT 1, 2011
Little aroma - pours normal dunkelweizen color. Fairly sweet. Flavor or lightly roasted grain with a fair amount of sweetness. Little bit of fruitiness. Pretty good. andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 30, 2011
Enjoyed on tap at Revolution Brewery in Chicago, IL with some friends prior to seeing the band F*ed Up. I didn’t take tasting notes, but from what I remember this looked really nice in the glass, dark amber with a rich head in a weiss glass. Aroma was a bit faint, but definite malt presence. The one thing that stuck out for me was that this one had an apricot flavor, which could’ve been an off-flavor, definitely ester-y and yeasty. It was still good, just tasted like it may have come from the bottom of the keg. Newk (299) - - SEP 27, 2011
had this from tap. Pours a nice dark red color with about a 1in head. dinkle50 (1559) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 18, 2011
malt based nose with tones of grains and spice tones. While its not the most complex nose, it works well
medium bodied with more of a pronounced spice flavor with good depth and a real good feel to back it up
a good dunkel. well balanced with a nice malty side to it.
Draft at the brewpub. Big head. Dark brown in the glass. Mild carbonation for the size of the head. Nutty flavors mixed with bread & malt. Very drinkable. Aroma is kinda stinky like a bar floor. I’d order this one again.
