A striking, robust porter full of warmth and chocolate malt. Eugene is a robust porter named after Eugene V. Debs, an American union leader and activist who led the Pullman Railroad strike in 1894. An assortment of Belgian specialty malts form a complex structure of toasted grain and caramel flavors. Dark chocolate malt makes this porter black as night and infuses it with its distinct intense, chocolate essence.

Ive never had anything from these guys, and Im always up for trying new brew. Can poured into a chalice. Pours a thick deep black, with just a sheet of lace on the top after what I thought was an aggressive pour. Bits of lace cling to the glass. The nose is full of roasted goodness: ground coffee, chocolate malt, toasted bread, and a kiss of sweet vanilla on the finish. Good hefty body. Chewy but easy to drink. Good bubble play on the palate. Big milk chocolate flavors all over this beer. Some mild roastedness rounds it out a bit. Ive had far too many Porters that are heavy on the roasted aspect and it just wears on you, but this one is perfectly balanced, even erring on the side of a little more sweet. Some vanilla and almond noted as well. Really a stand out beer here. Were this available to me locally, I think Id have regular stock of this in my fridge as my go-to dark beer.

From a can, this stuff looks GREAT! Big foaming evolvong head, almost as good a nitro stout, no lie. Aroma is kindah metallic. Taste is pretty strong, porter and all but it is more like a baltic porter, wew. Good charcoal feel to this stuff.

12oz can poured into glass. Very dark for a porter, almost pitch black. Aroma is simple: chocolate flavors mixed with slight cream. Nothing spectacular but one worth trying.

Can. The pour is dark, that of a standard porter. The aroma is heavy roast. The taste is fairly smooth. A nice robust porter.

Pours pitch black with a large light brown head. Smells roasty and chocolaty. Taste is primarily milk chocolate with hints or roast. Medium-bodied with a smooth, silky texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Revolution Eugene finishes smooth and chocolaty.

Pours a dark opaque brownish black color with a small java colored head. Nose is light chocolate and malt with some roasty notes. Taste is sweet with deep chocolate and espresso notes. Finishes on the same sweet tasty notes. A solid drinkable porter, Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pours a dark brown with a tan head and aroma of roasted malt. Taste is sweet, of roasted malt, chocolate, and smokey/burnt notes with a dry finish. Solid porter

Can. Pours very dark brown with a small brown head that fades pretty quickly. Roasted malt dominates the aroma but there are hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very creamy at first. Light sweetness, lots of roast and chocolate. The finish seems to lose the creaminess making it a tad watery. Kinda odd since the mouthfeel is pretty thick. Still solid overall but not memorable.

12 oz can generously given to me by beastiefan2k. The pour is a deep, hazed brown, with a full 3 inch khaki head. The head falls slowly. The aroma is light ash roast, a bit of mineral, and malt sweetness. The taste is mineral roast, dark chocolate, pine hop, and finishes with dry bitter sweet chocolate. The pine hop becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. The palate is medium to light bodied, low carbonation, and the mineral dry roast finish. Nice porter, great name, thanks for sharing Eugene.
