UPDATED: NOV 6, 2013 "Manager’s Special" as in "get rid of the Christmas beer" at Lemon Tree today. Pours a light reddish brown under a frothy head. Some wassail spices in the nose. Still some pungent piney hops on the tongue, almost knocking off the trail of ginger. Orange peel becomes pronounced as I go on through. Some alcohol warmth, despite being only a little stronger than any pale lager. Remember for next year: would be good maybe with dessert at Christmas dinner, maybe with a cinnamon stick swirled in.
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2017 hoppy pine nose. leads with resiny hops. mild spice hint. hoppy finish. first holiday beer I've liked. very well balanced trapped (3614) - New York, TURKEY - NOV 22, 2017
Can. Pours clear copper red with large foamy off-white head, pine/spruce-spicy aroma, medium carbonation, bitter caramel malt taste with spruce and spices, smooth body, long bitter caramel finish. Nice winter brew. BigBeer45 (1565) - Michigan, USA - NOV 20, 2017
Can sampled in a glass,
this beer was a dark red with brown hues, a little haze, there was a off-white cover, the bubbles had a yellow tint,
the nose had citrus hops, toasted malt, caramel, candy, some citrus fruit, faint spice,
the flavors were pine and citrus hops, toasted malt, caramel, spice, malt sweetness,
there was a light to medium hop bitterness with some pepper spice at the finish,
this drink had a light medium mouth feel, it was creamy and had average carbonation,
there was less sweetness in the flavor than the nose,
spice was nicely balanced (on the light side), a good beer. basaywhat (312) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - MAY 8, 2017
12 oz can. Pours a nice amber mahogany brown color with a nice head. Nose is sweet and spicy with ginger and cinnamon. Taste is a little hoppy with orange citrus and full of flavor. Finish is fruity and sweet. Drjohnrock (841) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2017
From draft flight at BIERmarkt USA on January 14, 2017. Red/amber color, nice fruit/hop nose, good bittersweet flavor with caramel and dark fruit. Isn’t overloaded with spice like a lot of Christmas beers. Good change of pace holiday brew.

Evergreen/pine and citrus hops in the aroma; cloudy orange color with lasting ivory-colored head; lots of spruce and ginger with some pine hops and a subtly aggressive bitterness, bitter peel in the finish and afertaste; medium to medium-full body, smooth texture; pretty good holiday brew that has a good balance of spice and hops, although i would have preferred slightly more pine/spruce and slightly less ginger, definitely different than many holiday brews. Draft at Dinosaur Bbq. I always try the ones with crazy names. Lightly spicy ale, some sweetness, and a yeasty, bready flavor. The holiday spices are lacking - maybe it is not fresh and the flavor faded, or they held back the spicing in this batch. This didn’t really move me much. Clear, amber pour with a frothy, off-white head. The aroma is a little spicy with notes of ginger. It has a medium body with slightly sticky texture and average carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a lingering finish. jflopsu (1805) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 16, 2016
Pours a clear amber with light tan head. A sweet caramel, malt and winter since aroma. A sweet winter spices taste with pine, hops, and sweet malts. A lingering winter spice aftertaste.
