Scipio's rating

3.9

Pours a clear, darker golden with an average white head. Aroma is what you would usually expect from this style. There is a good blend of pine, grapefruit, and pineapple. I do find a bit of caramel notes in here as well. The taste is dry and bitter. I get some pine, but more fruity flavors. Grapefruit, mango, and orange, melon, perhaps a bit of kiwi as well. Aftertaste is pine, melon, and mango. Medium bodied, sticky in texture, and lots of lively carbonation. I find this crisp and refreshing. Easy to drink, with all of the IPA goodness without the crippling punch. I’m impressed with this one.

This draft brew from a restaurant was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a uncarbonated body transparent orange brown colored body and a very good lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of mild citrus hops malt and bread dough. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

12oz can. Pours clear golden amber with a medium white lasting head, some light lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus, pine and grapefruit notes. Taste has a nice fruity flavor, tropical fruit, citrus and grapefruit, some pale malt. Has medium body with good carbonation. Finishes with a good fruity flavor, tropical fruit, grapefruit hops bitterness which intensifies as it warm up. Leaves a lingering dry hop bitterness as it goes down. Overall a very good, full flavored IPA. very nice.

This is an excellent IPA that stands out among its peers. Clean, crisp aroma of pine and citrus, although the aromas are a little light. The taste starts similar with pine and citrus, albeit with a more pronounced profile, and then the hops hit like a blast from a laser cannon. The right amount of carbonation gives this beer a lively mouthfeel, and lends a longish, crackling finish of flavor. After a pint to start the evening and a pint to finish the evening, I now want to strap on my jet pack and save the galaxy from nefarious evil-doers! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can, Trader Joe’s Chicago. Light amber colour, nice white foam. Crisp pale ale this, just enough sweetness in the malt base and a good whack of citrusy lime grapefruit slightly floral hops, medium to long bitter finish. Supremely moreish. A lovely little drop.

The hop aroma is there. Light crisp hop forward beer. The Australian hops shine on this one. Sweet soft tropical fruit flavors. Nothing lacking in this IPA. More smooth than the flagshipIPA. Malt doesn’t shine through and who wants it to. Balanced super hoppy. Thin fading head.

Can. Grass and spruce hop aroma. Grass and caramel with some subtle resiny pine notes. Some citrus in the dry finish.

Can. Pours out a light hazy copper color with a moderate off white head. Aroma is of lots of sweet cereal malts, Caramel, grass, pine, some spruce tips. Taste is much the same, lots of sweet Caramel and bready malts then a punch of resiny pine, grass and some biscuit and hoppy find is. I usually like galaxy, but this is just the wrong malt base for me.

When you think of an IPA, this is what you think of. Hop assertive, floral on the nose and clean finish. Reviewed - A Brew With You, Ep. 28
