Reddish pour with a tan head. The aroma and flavor have a ton of caramel and toffee as well as some light dark fruit. The flavor also has quite a bit of alcohol and some light brown sugar. The aroma is floral, mildly malty, with some mild caramel. Just kind of mild smelling.
The flavor has a good bit of alcohol spiciness, some toffee, some earthiness, some apple rind.
A little bit lackluster, but nothing bad going on here.
This one poured a medium red to brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of lots of caramel and toffee, with resinus and herbal hops there too. Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a clear reddish-bronze color with a medium white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of fruit and caramel malt. Full-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, resiny hops and fruit. The finish is malty up front with a piney hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Clear dark copper with a thin off white head that clears to the edges, forms a small lake but retains fairly well thereafter.
Nose of sweet caramel malt, dark sugars, toffee, spice, fudge, prune, dates.
Tastes of sweet sugars, dark toffee, booze, dark fruits, prunes, dates.
Full bodied with fine carbonation leading to a sweet and boozey finish.
An OK barley wine but a little over sweet and the alcohol isn’t that well hidden compared to some others.

Sampled at brewery today. Pours a clear brownish amber with fair khaki head. Aroma is full of dried fruit, molasses, caramel and brown sugar with alcohol definitely present. Taste is sweet. This note was taken at the Oktoberfest party on 9/22. Poured from tap into a 1L Krug. Pours a caramel/toffee color with a small head.
Big and rich aromas of hot caramel, toffee, malts and some booziness as well. It isn’t too boozy though.
Full bodied with noticeable booziness. It’s definitely on the hot side along with notes of hot caramel and malts.
