A gift from Sharon that’s been in the fridge for a year. Not quite black, with a medium brown head, minimal lacing. Bourbon notes, with dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Flavor follows aroma. Incredibly smooth and easy to drink. One fine beer.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown color with a light brown head. Big barrel presence in the aroma and flavor. Nice porter background. Great beer! DuchessOfIowa (161) - Iowa, USA - JUL 5, 2015
Out of a bottle. Rich roasted chocolate with vanilla and bourbon in the nose. Deep mahogany brown with very minimal white head that disappears quickly to nothing. Chocolate and bourbon booze with a slightly thinner body than most aged porters/stouts. A little sour and acidic quality that is a bit too prevalent. 8.5% abv is probably on the lower side to fight the lacto battle in the barrel.

Draft to mini snifter at Liberty’s. Pours a dark cola brown color with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor have mild roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, a hint of cherry, sweet marshmallow character, smooth, easy to drink, enjoyable. PartyFowle (954) - - APR 16, 2015
Bottle. Deep black yet thin, with one finger of tight ginger-colored foam. Sweet nose, a blend of maple, cotton candy and milk chocolate. A hint of smoke as well. Smooth yet subtle. The flavor’s sweet, almost tangy. Vanilla, tons of maple and molasses, a good amount of dark fruits, like prunes and figs. A touch of smoke, too. Light, whipped body, pillow-soft. Gentle carbonation. tderoeck (10002) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAR 4, 2015

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down fast, non adhesive. Aroma: wow, very sweet, lots of vanilla, bourbon, sugary caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: little sour, lots of bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, caramel, more alcohol, sourish touch, sugary. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel, lots of vanilla, dried fruits, crème brûlée, sugary, cocoa powder. Nice stuff, though weird enough the alcohol stands out in this one.
Bottle at Tim OTooles. Poured black with thin beige head. Aroma super boozy vanilla. Light carb med bod. Tastes sweet marshmallow choc. AndyReynolds (1085) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 22, 2015
Straight whiskey.... I mean, that’s what I got. They really should have done this with a stout, not a porter.
