Bottle at THT March edition. Dark, black pour with thin creamy moka foam. Aroma is really fruity, pear, peach, berries, very light roastiness. Strange fruitiness, like a mix from all sources, tropical fruit hoppy aromas + alcohol and malty fruitiness combined. Taste is sweet, fruity, a bit cloying. Really lacks roastiness and bitterness for balance. Still not bad. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 21, 2014
Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is big hops, some roast, fruity red notes. Flavour is subtle red fruits, faint hops, some caramel. Meh. deanso (10070) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - MAR 21, 2014

Thin tan head. Fruity aroma. Clear black pour. Pretty nice. sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 21, 2014
Poured deep dark brown with a beige froth. Aroma of vinous fruit, coffee grinds and ashtray. Medium body, lively, flavour is much as the aroma, less bitter than expected. miyauchi38 (1096) - chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2014

Pretty good stout. SOme nice smooth roastyness is accented by a good herbal and grassy hop bite. Smooth and easy drinking without being too bland. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - FEB 2, 2014
tasted blind. This one was good and roasty, unfortunately had a big disjointed sharpness. Not bad overall. Christpuncher (3108) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 25, 2014
A really easy drinking stout Bitter and a strong flavor of coffee. Pours a dark brown almost black smells like coffee. Had this in a bomber at home.

Ok tap at beer market. Very hoppy. Chocolate and pine. This is more black IPA than stout. Good stuff superspak (5497) - Michigan, USA - DEC 7, 2013
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/12/2012. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, light char, toast, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/roasted earthiness. Very nice hoppy aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, light char, toast, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/roasted earthiness. Slight pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, pineapple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, light char, toast, floral, grass, light pine, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and well balanced hop and roasted malt flavors; with nice robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice American stout style. All around good balance and robustness of hop and roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
