Pours gold with white head and no lacing. Aroma of grassy hops and rye. Taste is toasty, full of rye, and bitter. Very enjoyable to drink. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2014
[Tap] Draught at Farmhouse in Evanston. Spicy rye and lemon zest in the aroma. More rye, sweet caramel, biscuits and steady citrus hop bite to round out the flavor. A little chalky and quite dry in the finish. I am always a sucker for a good rye beer, and this one fits the bill. CraftBeerLvr41 (82) - Illinois, USA - MAR 26, 2014
A: Rich clear copper with decent head that lingers around for a bit.
S: Faint rye spice with tropical fruit dominating (grapefruit, mango, pineapple, light tangerine). Some carbonic bite.
T: Some rye upfront with some tropical fruit. Bready rye in the finish. I get some metallic sensation too.
M: Crisp and easy to drink.
O: Pretty good but not too blown away. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Draft at the brewery. From notes. Loads of citrus with the rye really coming through. Great beer. Homer321 (5119) - Melboring, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2014
bottle via archer liquors. Thanks Randy! A huge half danky half tropical hop nose that damn near makes my noise go into heaven. a slightly hazy dark yellow to dark gold color with white head that fades quickly with excellent lacing. very grapefruit. wow. malt is smooth and subtle with a hint of pepper and spice. dry enough to let the hops shine, but sturdy enough to stand up to a more than medium hop bitterness. that hop presence seems to dry out the beer. wow. this is good.

On tap at Warren’s Ale House in Wheaton, IL. for their Illinois Craft Beer Toast & Roast event. Dispensed to a tulip showing a bright & clear, deep golden color, with good persistence to the white, frothy head foam, and thick, wavy lacing. The aroma was expressively floral & citrus, with spicy & resinous hints. Medium bodied, the taste was similar notes as the nose, adding a touch of sweetness, and hop bitterness that was better than medium strength, and quite lingering. Very tasty, with some rye dryness partnering up with the bitterness at the finale. Awktoberfest (404) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2014
Lemon in the nose and taste. It has a spice to it. Very nice and rather enjoyable. Lingering bitterness. They do good with their pales and iPas...

Tasty brewski from Revolution. Clear light amber color with a light head. Whisper of a hop smell with a tangy hop rye taste. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 6, 2013
Bottle dated Jan 7 2013, received Aug 2013: Didn’t realize the date codes until now. Straw in color, a bit dark, orangish, minor haze, thin to moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing. Soft floral aroma, a touch of rye, some citrus peel and pith, slightly candied, along with pixie stix. Guessing because of its age, the pixie stix is emerging. Smooth citrusy start, a touch floral, has that candied citrus peel I got on the nose. Smooth, rye appears in the background. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Finishes smooth, yet with some punch. Despite its age, its still holding together fairly well. Thanks Kevin!
