Cask at Nags Head, Reading watching football. Pours black with a creamy head. Taste of roasted malts and chocolate. Easy going down and a great session porter. I’m sure Joe Strummer would have loved it too.

kermis (12869) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 11, 2017
Cask at Craft Covent Garden. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, fudge and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with very soft carbonation.

Holmen1 (5839) - Stavanger, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2017

theprof (931) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2017
Tap at the Derby Winter Beer Festival. Licorice and molasses in the scent. Pours mahogany with thin bubbly tan top. Taste has dark fruits to the fore with roasted malts. Some coffee undertones and molasses lingers on the palate. Good.

tombyars (1683) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 23, 2016
Tasted this at the Troon beer festival on the 7th October 2016. Cask, gravity dispense. Dull black in colour with a thin creamy buff head. Malty aroma with notes of sweet treacle present and short on the nose. Thin oily mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malt complex gives a maltloaf base with flavours of chewy treacle toffee, mocha coffee and dark chocolate. There is a slight dry dusty hop prickle coming through in the short bitter aftertaste. Finish is sweet and malty with treacle toffee and mocha coffee still lingering on the palate. Tastes far stronger than the weak OG implies. Good session Porter with decent complexity.
