Draught @ Alaus Stacija, Riga, Latvia.
Clear medium yellow orange colour with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, straw, butter. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, malty, sweet malt, dry, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Draft at Brevinga. Cleat yellow color. Straw aroma. Taste is plain lager. Not bad. omhper (25565) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 5, 2012
Draught at Alaus Stacija, Riga. Clear deep golden creamy head. Restrained hops in a sweet malt aroma. Faint notes of bubblegum and butter. Light bodied, mid dry with saltier bitter finish. Quite nice. TBone (18099) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 6, 2012

Hazy orange color, no head. Cereals, grainy, a bit sweetish aroma. Light to medium bodied. Grainy, sweet malty, unfermented sugars. Lively carbonation. Very typical "mass brewpub" beer. I am not impressed.

Golden color, small creamy off-white head. Hoppy (Saaz?) nose, only slightly skunked. Some grassy hops in the flavor. malty finish. Not really hoppy enough to be a pilsener, but quite different to the most of other Latvian "gaisais" I have sampled.

Almost wheatbeery, with it’s rich orange, and haze. tiny ring head. Sweet, almost corny, aroma. Similar in the mouth, perhaps a touch of honey. Fullish smooth palate, but quite harsh carbonation for a snowy night. Light graininess in the finish, just a hint of They seem to have at least temporarily cured the diacetyl disaster they were suffering from. Pretty drinkable, but as I’ve just eaten and drunk to my full, I found it hard to get something with this level of carbonation down.

Sweet and corny. Fizzy, too harsh. Needs swirling a lot. Then the corniness resembles grains more. These beers all still need work, clearly.

Tap (S. Brevinga Alus/Viski, Riga) - 4.6% 2010- version. Not entirely sure it’s the Gaisais
5+ Sweet treacly aroma, Anna gets some ginger.
4 Hazy reddy orange. Settles to a small head after a big frothy pour.
5 Very latvian. A touch lactic, but very full of a simple grainy taste.
3 Pleasant mouthfeel. Finish has a new taste for me - the raw, freshly steeped malt grains.
11 Super easy to drink lager, maybe a bit sweet, but it goes down so easily.
Rerate: Tap (Folks Klubs, Riga) as "Rezenkes Gords Ols" apparently at 4.6% not sure this is the right place for the review (6:3:6:3:12+=3.0+)
Nice deep reddy orange. Nice sweet dunkel, caramel forward. Easy drinker, but a bit thin for a dunkel.
Bottle @ Porins, Liepaja. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, little grain, sugar, little sweet apples. Flavor is sweet with malt, grain, corn, wet paper, sugar. Medium body, overly carbonated. 060313 rosenbergh (11755) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 23, 2014

[[On tap as Velvet at Brewery Õlleklubi in Tallinn, Estonia]
Brewery Ølleklubi as "Hansa Eerste Velvet". Had this on 29.8.2015. Poured amber in color with a quickly disappearing white head. Aroma was malts, some vegetable like notes and cereals. Flavor had the same things going on, vegetables, grains and sweetness. Low bitterness. Very generic.
