2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
for a "low carb" beer not too bad. For a real beer however, very little taste. Not one I would buy again.
Appearance: Pours a clean, simple yellow-hued body with a very small, very thin, white head.

Smell: A little sweetish sniff of cereal-scented malts with a flimsy hint of grains.
Taste: Sweet cereal maltiness, near nil hop flavor and imparted bitterness. A lick of grains. Finishes a bit sweet and lacking crispness.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: The ’Extra’ in Rhinebecker Extra doesn’t stand for flavor or enjoyment.
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2015 I haven’t had any other Low Carb beers. So maybe it is great for a low carb beer? It just tasted like a water but not terribly offensive light beer. Serving: Bottle kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

clear yellow with a big white head, sweet malt aroma, thin but respectable body, nice light sweet malt flavor, touch of hop flavor and bitterness, a quick and tasty quaff,
Aroma: 5/10; Appearance: 5/10; Flavor: 5/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 10/20

12oz bottle- No aroma on a slight cloudy golden body. Taste of a little malt, perfume, and finishes with a little bitterness. Not a big fan of low carb nor am I a fan of this. frankenkitty (2012) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2006
Clear & golden with light carbonation under a foamy white head that left some watery lace. Dusty aroma finds a faint whiff of hops. Palate is not as thin as I expected while the flavor finds a pleasant balance of ingredients, starting malted and finishing bitter. A decent low-carb offering... one that I’m inclined to buy for my diabetic mom so she doesn’t stock her fridge with the likes of Michelob Ultra.

It may have 2.5 carbs, but it also has zero aroma. Zilch! Golden body, fleeting head. 11.2 ounce bottle is all filler no killer. DocLock (10683) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2005
Bottle. Gold pour with typical slight hopcit/thiol aromas and tastes. I thought I was done with pale lagers.....I guess I’m stuck with them until the NC 6% beer law goes away. Cornfield (5570) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2005
Just what the world needs - another low carb pale lager. This golden, headless wonder has a perfumey aroma with a hint of malt. It tastes perfumey, too... which is not a good thing. The aftertaste is a bitter metallic one that leaves you running for that next brew - - - anything but one of these. wilkie (1208) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - FEB 2, 2005
Bottle. Golden, pale, with a tiny white head. Little aroma. What
a crappy beer. The stuff they brew at Coors is better than this garbage.
Watery, and flavorless. Just crap crap crap! Simon (42) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - JAN 31, 2005
This beer is very light and even watery, but manages to retain decent lager flavor. When compared to other low-carb beers, this one is exceptional. Recommend to your friends who are drinking Michelob Ultra.
