22 oz bottle shared by Tmoney99 (I also had multiple samples at Ei8ht Ball). Pours a clear deep amber color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have a complex caramel, dark fruit character, bigger barrel character, bourbon, wood, vanilla, earthy, some booze but in line with the abv, very solid.

Bottle. Poured a hazy dark copper color with a moderate frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex roasted malt, bourbon and earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bourbon sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet and small alcohol finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Sample at Bob’s Bar. Cloudy brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Patches of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt and vanilla. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Keg at Brewdog shepherds Bush. A clear reddy brown coloured pour with a beige head. Aroma is huge boozy Bourbon, oak and vanilla, hot alcohol, fruit cake, nutty malts. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty malts, brown sugars and fruit cakey malts. Strawberry cake. Palate is medium bodied, medium sweet, mellow carbonation,. Little booze and wood tannin. Pretty good.

May 2017 – Keg at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush as ’Rhinegeist BA Gramps’, 11.9%. Dark ruby, translucent, still, foamy off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is redcurrant, cranberry and anise. Body is rounded with soft to tingly carbonation. Taste is quite nice up front with vanilla and fudge, bourbon, malted milk biscuits and more anise. Over time you get more and more booze – like a vanilla vodka. Couldn’t drink lots of this. Quite fun up front but liked it less over time. (3.4)

Really big , complex aroma. The vanilla also comes through in the mouth, and it has a big mouthfeel

Draft at Ei8ht Ball, served in a flight. Pours a cloudy amber color with a small off-white head that settles into a ring. Notes of vanilla, pralines, caramel, toasted malts, oak, dried fruits, and candied nuts. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel that’s also woody enough to suggest dryness. Other raters have described how boozy it seems, but it didn’t hit me like that.

Bottle thanks to peter shared by dan. Nose is huge in booze. Lots of malt sugar. Taste is full bodied sugar with boozy vanilla. Finishes with a hit alcohol. Wowe. This tastes like 20%.

on tap @ Party Town (Friday Night Flights) / Florence KY --- Cloudy dark amber color, off-white head that drops to a thin rim, thin strings of lace. Taste is full-bodied sweet caramel malt that adds solid carbonation on the swallow on the way to toffee, bourbon and alcohol in a very long, warm finish. Big and impressive, like a Belgian Tripel.
