Aroma is vanilla and bourbon notes. Appearance is dark amber. Taste is vanilla and bourbon notes with some caramel and toasty malt. Palate is medium. Overall this is very well done and hard to believe this is such a low ABV. A sessionable bourbon barrel ale. Outstanding! GnarlyGnome (770) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2014
Draft: Very big fan of this one. It’s got some great bourbon notes without losing the sessionable quality of Uncle. This is a very nice example of a bit of style creativity. This has lots of sweetness and nuttiness, with a wonderful finish. Awesome stuff. gizmo_ber (190) - Steinwenden, GERMANY - JUL 30, 2014

Draft at the brewery, served in a fat tulip. Pours a clear mahogany with a small beige head that settles into a ring. Notes of vanilla, toast, pralines, brown sugar, light pecan, cardboard, and a splash of diet cola that gives it a bit of an artificial sweetener note. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a malty, smooth, sweet mouthfeel. Works pretty well overall. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 29, 2014
Snifter on tap at the brewery, thanks to b3shine for sharing. Clear dark red color. Off-white khaki head. Loose lace. Very nice nose. Nice vanilla, dark fruit, barrel aromas in the nose. Some butterscotch. Medium body. Smooth, lightly creamy, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Impressively full mouthfeel. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Not at all cloying, nice light dry finish. Very cool, tasty stuff to try. Much better than expected.. Pretty much as well done and as well-integrated as this could’ve been. A barrel-aged beer for the summer heat. Tmoney99 (14612) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 29, 2014
Draft sample. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex toasted malt and bourbon wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bourbon sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer. b3shine (8934) - Indiana, USA - JUN 28, 2014
Draft to snifter at the Anniversary Party (shared with DrSilverworm). Looks good; a hazy dark mahogany with foamy light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; it manages to keep the mild ale presence while accentuating the beer with notes of oak and mild bourbon. Tastes like it smells with some caramel too. Nice and light on the palate for being bourbon barreled. I wasn’t sure about a BB mild ale, but this works nicely. Good balance.
