Can from Discount. Pours a light copper with a finger of foam that lingers. Honey, caramel and pepper on the nose. Well-balanced. Hoppy, peppery and malty. Good pepper on the finish! This is really good.

Pours a mahogany color with a light, tan head. Aroma is pine hops with rye and caramel malts. Flavor was not as good. Caramel malts are too overpowering with a hint of rye and pine.

Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma was of caramel malts, grassy hops, a little fruity. Flavor similar, a nice clean rye beer not overloaded with hops.

On tap at Short North Pint House on 5/20/16. Was attempting to attend the Rhinegeist tap takeover for Columbus Craft Beer Week, but the time was listed wrong and we were several hours early. At least they had this one on tap. Clear copper pour with a thick beige head. Aroma of malt, spicy rye and earthy hop. Spicy rye malt flavor with slight caramel before a grassy and earthy hop finish.

12oz can pours a murky orange with some frothy, white head. Nose is OK, grist, some mild toffee sweetness, a little pepper, some grass. Flavor is quite muddled, grist is more on the stale side, light pepper, some grass, straw. Spritzy finish. OK.

Amber color out of the can with a thick, sticky off white head. Nose with some some rye spice and some earthy hops. Caramel sweetness with a strong rye presence and a firm, earthy dry hop finish. I do like rye in beer.
