Bottle from JPs pour opaque black with moderate tan head that rapidly dissapates. Nose molasses, raisin, red fruit, chocolate, vanilla. Taste chocolate and coffee early, then flavors from nose. Vanilla through the finish. b3shine (9338) - Indiana, USA - NOV 22, 2017
Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks good for the style; a translucent brownish cola with beige head that slowly but steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; malty with a nice balance of oak, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and a touch of coffee. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and mildly warming. Solid, but smells significantly better than it tastes. Tmoney99 (15211) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 20, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2017 Bottle. Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy chocolate malt, wood and bourbon aroma. Copious body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor to medium to heavy dark sweet alcohol finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a complex solid beer.

Bottle... Pours clear and brown with a small, fizzy, beige head that’s gone faster than you can say “quick.” Medium to full-bodied with zippy carbonation. The flavor is lightly roasty, but mainly just toasty and bittersweet. Toastiness and roastiness linger in the finish. I’m not getting any oak or bourbon out of this. Maybe it’s just me. Tap at Mellow. Pours a deep brown to black with some light purple highlights and basically no head. Roasted coffee, chocolate and prune aromas are there but the bourbon character shines through. Body seems a touch thin and carbonation a bit low. Lots of woody, bourbon notes with some faint vanilla. More chocolate. Kind of straightforward, but still a fun beer. Finish is a little hot. radagast83 (8690) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JUN 8, 2016
