Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.

Tastes of very burnt malts, coffee in a very stout like way. Though it is also fairly watery and drinkable.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 3 - London. Pours clear, light brown with a frothy tan head. Well toasted biscuit flavor, light cocoa, some tangy and leathery fruits, a bit of earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK carbonation. Some light roasted malts in the finish, forest fruits, toasted brown bread. OK. The_Osprey (7996) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2014
500ml bottle from ASDA. Cola coloured with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is ashy, burnt toffee. Body is medium to light, watery, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste is mild and sweet, soft ash, maybe some chocolate, not bitter but finishes dry. An easy drinker for people wanting to start getting in to dark beers (at least this was the role it played for me over 10 years ago). Still good.

Cask at GBBF 2012. Poured a very dark ruby, with a thin off white head. Aroma of dark malts, dried fruit and burnt sugar. Berries and plums in the flavour, with some earthy grain. Fairly thin mouthfeel. Finish petered into nothingness; light burnt malt and toffee. jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 11, 2014
Cask @ The Gowlett, East Dulwich. Medium brown color with a pretty frothy light tan head. Red highlights. Pretty supple aroma. Toasted nut earthiness. Sweet caramel and cocoa. A bit of cherry and forest fruits. Slight red apple acidity. More smooth cocoa, chocolate malt. Dry finish. Light body, soft carbonation. Nothing much to this, but quite drinkable. berkshirejohn (6502) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2014
Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. A dark reddish chestnut colour with a thin translucent head; chocolate malt aroma; sweet milky textrure with a deeply roasted, nutty malt taste with some chocolate in the background; the finish is dry with lingering Brazil nuts. Rather good. SarkyNorthener (4621) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2014
